Just wondering if any users here got charged for excess local data, local calls, local SMS, IDD calls, or roaming data charges.

Excess roaming data charge is pretty high at S$4 per GB.

Many users have more wallet money, so the excess usage charges will be automatically deducted.

https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/a...g-else-other-than-what-s-included-in-the-plan

You can only use the service for usage types that are included as part of the plan. Other usage types such as MMS, video calls and Premium Services are not supported.

For excess data, calls and SMS, you can access and top up your Account Balance by logging into SIMBA My Account, via SIMBA Recharge, My SIMBA App or at SIMBA Authorised Dealers. Excess charges will be deducted as follows:

  • Local data at $1 per GB (Not applicable for seniors and prepaid plans)
  • Roaming data from $4 per GB
  • Local call at 1¢ per 30 seconds (Toll-free Lines are free of charge)
  • IDD calls from 2¢ per 60 seconds
  • International SMS at 10¢ per SMS
The rates listed above are subject to change. Recharges are not refundable.

$4 per 1gb is cheap liao. Normal Telco charging hands and legs for 1kb

The issue is automatical charging for excess usage if the user has extra wallet balance.

Many users do not want bill shock and happier with no extra charges on top of the monthly subscription price.

SIMBA is not the one to go if you want no extra charges.

it supposed to be. it is the best MVNO plan in my opinion with ZERO worry of extra charge.

i think the rest of MVNOs there is chance for extra charge depending on what extra thing u use.

eight NO matter what u do, also will not incur a single cent more than what ur plan subscription fee is.

perfect for kids or elderly to use...

The following is what I have gathered. Please correct me if I miss some extra charges or I am wrong. Thanks.

SingTel and M1 MNO plans have potential high Pay per Use roaming voice charges and roaming outgoing SMS charges. There will be extra roaming data charges as well with ReadyRoam or M1 Data Passport.

Starhub new MNO plans: no extra charges

SIMBA MNO plans: excess local data charges, high excess roaming data charges. Also got charges for excess local calls, local SMS and IDD calls.

SingTel Gomo: no extra charges

SingTel hi! Postpaid: no extra charges

Zym/Zero1/VIVIFI/CMLink: high pay as you go roaming incoming/outgoing voice and outgoing roaming SMS charges

Starhub gigia: no extra charges

Starhub eight: no extra charges

Starhub Prepaid: no extra charges

M1 Maxx: no extra charges

CL: high pay as you roam data charges, high pay as you roam roaming incoming/outgoing voice and outgoing roaming SMS charges

MR: high pay as you go roaming incoming/outgoing voice and outgoing roaming SMS charges

CUniq: high pay per use roaming data charges, high pay per use roaming incoming/outgoing voice and outgoing roaming SMS charges

Simba will send sms to warn reaching or exceeded bundled roaming data? Subscriber can then disable data roaming to avoid bill shock or set data roaming usage limit in phone settings in advance.

They even terminated a friend's line with over 6 months' credit balance inside, without any correspondence. Still can't answer after weeks.

You think they can be trusted?

Unrelated to the auto deduction from wallet credit when exceeded bundled data roaming quota issue.
