Hi,

I use HSBC Advance Debit Card Visa for simply go, the transaction 1 week ago still on HOLD in the HSBC , is it normal since if i use Credit Card , it automatically posted the next day

Yes, normal for debit card

Had a string of bad luck today. Tapped in on the bus my with phone, reader cannot read my device on tap out. Tapped in with my phone on MRT, could not tap out on ANY of the readers when trying to exit. So I used the physical card to tap out. How to file the claim like this?

u able to tap out using physical card when u tap in using phone
If so, I guess there will be 4 entries on your SimplyGo.
Then u make 2 claims for Missing exit (by phone)
and another 2 claims for missing entry (by physical card)

I think the readers cannot detect whether you tap in and tap out with same device. I'm guessing I'll get hit with full bus fare, then missing entry $2 and missing exit $2

It's quite embrassing if you scan using your phone and the scanner just got no reation. I had used the same device for many types of payment, and it was instanteous and error free.

Is this truly tested to work well? Thought of switching back to using ezlink card again, at last I won't be embrassed.

Yeah really. When they first launched even physical MasterCard sometimes no reaction. Very sian now. Wondering if it's my phone problem?

Pay using your mobile in other shops and see if it's working. For me, buses and MRT tapping is unrelable for now. 1 failure out of 4 scans.

Yeah I am able to pay in shops with my phone no problem

Seems like the daily morning deductions for both today and yesterday got denied, now I can't use my phone for public transportation...

I can still use the same card in stores, are there anyone else who got their daily transaction postings declined?

Not new. I was using mastercard ABT previously & noticed some things:

- Even when i remove card from wallet, it takes a while for the fare gate reader to read the card. Noticeably slower than ezlink card.

- After several months usage, the card just stops working. As in its totally dead! I cant even use it to tap & pay in shops!

- After calling the bank for replacement card, same thing occurs. Ok at first (somewhat slow response time as usual) then after several months dead again.

Its also bloody annoying how every week im getting smses saying $50 deducted when its not.

Huh this sounds scary. You mean the paywave function on your credit card stopped working even for retail purchases? Visa seriously got to look into this if it gets too common with such card replacements

In a few months time your card will prob stop working totally. Happened to me twice hence i gave up on it & went back to ezlink. Some how it spoils your credit card.

Yes but mine was master. Once i cancelled ABT & went back to ezlink i never had problems with my mastercard.

A lot of people were talking about it in the MasterCard thread. The limit on the number of taps is 1024, after which the card will not work anymore for any contactless payment. Some said they have been asked by the bank reps to "reset" this by using the chip payment at other retail stores but nobody has confirmed it works.

Which phone are you using? I would use the card to avoid these problems but I scared later it also fails after 1024 taps like the mastercards
