Singpass App on Custom ROMs

Hi everyone,

Singpass App no longer works in my phone. I see this message "Your personal data matters. We have locked the app to keep your data secure. Ensure your device is not rooted or running apps for unknown sources. (T0)" and I see only one button saying "I understand. Quit the app now"

Anyone has a workaround for this? I am running Evolution X ROM on my Poco. Magisk hide works? I don't think the apps get root permission by default even on custom ROMs.

All the answers are on XDA or the general web. MAgisk Hide is no more. Magisk Denylist. No problem even on Android 12.

latest Singpass app 15.2.0 can detect root again (official Magisk 25.2, Shamiko 0.5.2)
This message shows up after installing 15.1.0, but downgrading Singpass 15.1.0 is still possible for now.

Hi guys, I just bought a new Xiaomi phone (12S Ultra) and have queued to unlock bootloader.
Aim to flash eu rom for full google support and less rubbish bloatware.
Will not be rooting.
No issues with Singpass current version right as long as I don't root.

As you can see in the screenshot in the previous post, Singpass app can detect unlocked bootloader.
Whether there's issue or not, you need to check with GovTech directly.

Just a sharing of my unsuccessful attempts on getting Singpass v15.2.1 which was released on 26th September on my rooted Pixel 4a 5g.

My root is Magisk and I'm using the suggested Shamiko v0.5.2

I tried many ways, including:
- Add

sg.ndi.sp

to deny list
- Add

sg.ndi.sp:playcore_missing_splits_activity

to deny list
- Repeat the process above with a fresh install Singpass
- Repeat the process above with a fresh install Singpass + reboot
- Repeat the process above with a Singpass + Magisk app namechange + reboot

all of it fails, and Singpass still not letting me use the application (ya I know, keep glorifying while you can GovTech team; congratulations for making our life much harder than it is)

I'm out of heads on what grounds the Singpass use to detect root. I tested with RootBeer Sample, and it seems Magisk + Shamiko to able to hide root detection through its various root detection method.

I'm suspecting it scan through the namelist of installed app, such that only a rooted phone will have.

I guess there's a conflict of interest: the phone manufacturer makes money from the bloatware and ads on your phone, Google make money for showing ads while you surf the web or watch YouTube, so they don't want users to easily root and kill their source of revenue.
Their was a time I thought expensive brands like Sony or Samsung would be free of bloatware, but in reality that's wrong.
For iPhone, it's even worse: besides the bloatware, they keep forcing users to store everything to "crapcloud", then tell the users that it's low of space and keep nagging users to subscribe to another "crapcloud" plan.

Of course experts will say that rooted phone is a huge security risk, and I'm not qualified to argue with them, but I think users should have full control of what apps to be installed on their phones and what services to use.

R u joking? When did apple force users to subscribe to their iCloud service? Anyone can opt out. I just use the free 5gb. And what bloatware? It’s their own apps and anyone can uninstall them.

I'm totally serious, but I can be wrong, because I never really used any iPhone before. I just have a taste of awfulness from my company's iMac/Macbook.
From what I understand, "crapcloud" can be disabled, but then auto backup will also be gone. The moment "crapcloud" is enabled, all apps will try to save to "crapcloud" as default. Then comes the "no more space" nagging.
My definition of bloatware is anything that comes preinstall on the device without the way to totally uninstall it (leaving no trace behind). As I mentioned earlier, I think users should have full control of what apps to be installed on their phones and what services to use. If you think there's no bloatware on iPhone, good for you sir, please enjoy.
I don't want to start a useless keyboard war about this off-topic discussion. I knew some users would not be happy after reading my previous post, but I didn't expect the retaliation coming from this Android subforum.

Just to update, Xiaomi.eu rom with unlocked bootloader (not rooted) works with Singpass.

12S Ultra with 13.0.10 eu rom here. Amazing rom.

It works magically!
I'm not sure how to disable service & provider using package manager, so I use App manager.
I used to disable services using servicely, but this is the first time I know that provider can be disabled also.

I use App manager and disabled the service and providers as you highlighted. It "passed" safetynet and I can progress again but kicked me out at the login portion with that error.

I re-enable one of the providers or service, then I got the "root detected". So seems like issue with my phone. YMMV

Oneplus 7t with Shamiko. Passed safetynet which no issues with all bank apps and gov app except Singpass.

Singpass 15. 1 was working fine.

Yes you are correct.

Nvm. I given up on my phone. Bought the Pixel 7P. I only flash lineage on my 7T cos the fingerprint sensor didn't work in stock rom.
