My contract is up. I called Singtel and they told me the price for recontract is $49. What other alternative can I go.

Call 1688 again and ask to be transferred to the retention department. Then use your negotiation power.

1) Minimal goal -- S$42.90 per month with WiFi 6 wireless router or AP, same as new user.
2) Or you can try another promotion as well: S$40.40 per month with WiFi 5 router, previous recontract offer

Reference offer for new user: S$53.90 - S$ 11 = S$42.90 per month

Hi guys, wanted to run a check is there a way to setup on the singtel router about website filtering?

I am actually connecting direct to all rooms from the singtel router, and one of it is to a xiaomi router.

If i can do from main router will be ideal, if not i will try to do from xiaomi router

Which Singtel router? Are you using ONT or ONR?

Singtel Mesh Router and Nokia ONR should have the feature but not very good. Not so sure about the new ZTE ONR.

It is also mentioned in this page (Post #4464)

Whenever Singtel sales person comes knocking the door, I will tell him that I am not interested as they are promoting two things.
1) Lousy Singtel mesh solution if the user wants to stay with 1Gbps plan.
2) Lousy Singtel 2Gbps or 2.5Gbps plan with the lousy Singtel mesh solution. They use Singtel ONR and I consider the plans as a downgrade to my existing Singtel 1Gbps plan with Singtel ONT.

FYI on ONR vs ONT (average user may not care too much).

This must be wired connection to connect right? I was on wifi but got to GPON Home Gateway, but i not sure on username and password.

Either wired or wireless should work. If you have not changed the user name and password, then they are probably on the back of the ONR. If you have changed and forgotten the password, then probably you may need to try factory reset or need to contact Singtel for help.

Take note I do not have the Nokia ONR, the screenshots were from my friend.

Hmm it seems like the set up in parental control not working for the Singtel access. Have tried to do URL control and also schedule, but both appears not to be working.

Did any one manage to set this up? Or i need to get a Asus local router to be able to control this?

Many thanks in advance.

I will say just forget about the Singtel ONR and use another router (Double NAT).

Please check if you can change the DNS server or not. I believe yes. In that case, you may want to use solution like Adguard Home or Pi-hole. Get a Mini PC or Raspberry Pi 4 and run Adguard Home which will be much more powerful than this or even an Asus router.

I use Adguard Home as an LxC container on my Intel N100 based Mini PC with my Asus RT-AX86U router.

Or you can use easier solution like Adguard Public DNS or NextDNS or OpenDNS Family.

Hi All. I'm currently on Singtel 1Gbps service. I think my contract will be up soon. I have signed up with Singtel earlier. I can't seems to go to 192.168.1.254 to check whether my ONR is in bridge.

As a result of this, am I right to assume that my ONR is already on Bridge Mode? Because if I'm already on bridge mode, I would probably need to call into Singtel to ensure that my ONR is not changed back to router mode if I were to recontract right?

I'm also looking at my Asus configuration Page. My AC86U seems to be on router mode, but I don't see double nat.

Sorry. Just looking to seek reconfirmation.

Bridged Singtel ONR for 1Gbps plan: your RT-AC86U will have a public IPv4 address and not a private IPv4 address (eg: 192.168.x.x). And only one bridged LAN port of the ONR is working for Internet access. The other three ports will only work with Singtel TV Box.

Unbrdiged Singtel ONR for 1Gbps plan -- 4 ONR LAN ports will work for Internet access and Singtel TV box.

So just check whether your RT-AC86U WAN address is a public IPv4 address or not. Most likely your ONR is bridged.

If your ONR has been bridged already, Singtel should not "un-bridge" it when you re-contract. It should remain as it is.

Just get a confirmation when negotiating with Singtel before you commit to the re-contract (eg Whatsapp chat or email). (Not that you can do anything with it if SIngtel does decides to un-bridge it and be an a$# about not honouring what they said before the re-contract).

Then follow what xiaofan said to check after your re-contract to confirm you can still see the WAN IP address.
