Previously Singtel charged S$10 per month for official bridging and some users managed to get the monthly fee waiver.

Reference: previous discussions.

Oh, another surprising piece of news. When I told ST I wanted to have bridge mode for my new 10G ONR, since my current ONR is also on bridge mode, the sales told me "Please be inform that Bridge Mode is now a chargeable VAS service at $10/mth (incl. GST)".

This means they are open to officially supporting bridge mode, but at an additional charge. This could also mean that in future they will start clamping down on users configuring bridge mode on their own?

Yes, a little unscrupulous of them if you ask me, to make money from something that doesn't cost them anything to do.

Anyway, I protested the extra charge, saying that I'm currently already using bridge mode on my existing ONR, and not paying anything for it. Plus I have many other services with them, been using them for so long, blah blah blah. They discussed internally and agreed to "waive" the bridge mode charge as "a gesture of goodwill". I told them to make sure this request for bridge mode is noted on the order so the technician knows, and they assured me it was done. My installation date is on 4 March. Let's see...

Nice. Thanks a lot for the updates!

You are the second person in this forum to get SingTel to officially bridge the XGS-PON ONR (without a fee). The other user was using 1+1 Gamer Plan previously (the only SingTel plan with officially bridged GPON ONR).

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-bridge-mode-chargeable.7131968/

I just do a recontract with singtel. But my bridge mode is gone and need to raise escalation again like 2years before...
But got informed the bridge mode will be $10/month.
Anyone heard or experienced about this charge. Feeling ridiculous

just tried filling this form https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-edm/5gbps-plan

They just issued me a contract without verbal confirmation from me lolll...

Then i call in and asked about the bridge-mode. They say it's chargeable and i can't waive it off. I asked for the recontract to be voided instead.

Now i am going through the whatsapp route, see if can offer waiver. I know different channel have different team, so it's hard to say.

Yes, you can try your luck.

Worse case is to bridge by yourself if you want to stay with SingTel and no waiver for the monthly ONR bridging charge.

1) The 5Gbps recontract offer is a decent one at S$29.90 per month with free HB611-SGST.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-edm/5gbps-plan
5Gbps Enhanced Plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $70.90/mth)
Comes with 1 x Singtel WiFi 7 (TP-Link BE11000) Router

Previous recontract offer reported.
2) 3Gbps at S$29.90 per month with free HB611-SGST. Not many users got this offer through recontract. It was mainly a targeted offer for new SingTel Fibre Internet user with existing SingTel mobile service.

3) 3Gbps at S$39.90 per month with free two nodes of HB611-SGST.

4) 3Gbps at S$39.90 per month with free HB611-SGST, and then S$120 or S$240 voucher.

I am not so sure if the following user manages to get so high S$240 voucher. Usually the voucher amount is much less at about S$120.

so my 1gbps plan expired this month..it reverted back to the no contract $40++ rate.

Right on schedule I received a mailer from Singtel on their 3gbps enhanced plan at $39.90/mth (24 mth contract), which includes:
- 1 x TP-Link HB611 Router
- $240 Fairprice Vouchers
- 12 months of Amazon Prime etc

leaning towards renewing (essentially, can it be viewed that the vouchers offset the monthly payment, reducing it to $29.90/mth??)..but then sometimes I think about the lousy singtel service i have to deal with..

Yeah I would probably wish to stick to Singtel. As my parents wants to keep hold of the homeline, porting over is troublesome as I've ported before.

If all else fails I guess I have to really port to Sh or m1..

Can port but very troublesome, you need pay 1 more month. Then terminate only when the port is done succesfully. Also have to bring down the equipment. I port from sh to singtel before last time

You can just apply for other telco.

But once that is up, you have to cancel Singtel Fibre Internet service to avoid further charges.

Sharing my recent experience with porting Singtel digital voice number to M1.

Do not call SIngtel to terminate your broadband (bundled with digital voice) until M1 notifies you that the port-in is successful. Singtel requires 7 days to terminate your broadband;

Failing to do so will require you to
  1. Call Singtel to "unterminate"
  2. Call M1 to proceed port in
  3. Wait for M1 to notify the successful port in
  4. Call Singtel to terminate (new effective date will be the date you call + 7 days)

do note of what was shared previously. $29.90 plan via the form is by right no free bridge mode.

Anyway i've managed to whatsapp singtel and get it waived for for the next 2 years.

Hi there! This is Fil from Home Department. Thank you for the verification. Bridge mode is available upon request. As this feature is not a regular add‑on, it is chargeable at $10 per month. However, since you were previously on bridge mode, we can extend it free of charge for 24 months. After this period, the monthly charge will apply.

Nice. Glad that you get official bridging for 24 months.

Even though they change the terms and conditions, this is still case by case negotiation with Singtel.

Example reference for the new updated terms and conditions from SingTel.
https://cdn1.singteldigital.com/con...e/agreements/singtel-fibre-broadband-tncs.pdf

"Bridge Mode” is temporarily not supported on this plan and there can be no reversion to previous
plans that offered “Bridge Mode”.

Ah yeah.

One more thing, in my service agreement contract. I do see it under "ONR Bridge Mode (Promo)- Added" $10 promo.

At least this delays my porting for 2 years. 2 years later i will see if i can get it continued, else i will port out

Actually I don't know anything about bridge mode.. don't think i will need ba.. my parents place just one router then can use wifi for their mobile can liao.. although probably don't even need broadband with data now so cheap..

They say needs to two appointments to upgrade the speed from 1 gbps to 3... didn't say anything about charges.. hope it's free..
