Decided to port from Gomo to Hi 5G plan ($13/mth) while in HK as Gomo couldn't connect 5G with various HK operators. Porting was super fast approx 30mins but alas, Hi 5G also cannot connect to 5G roaming (tested with Samsung S24 Ultra and Oppo Find x9 Pro)! Landed in Taipei also same issue, no 5G and cannot even connect to Chung Hwa telecom, only can connect to Taiwan Mobile. Our friends' Eight, Giga, Vivifi & Zero1 all have strong 5G signals. It seems to me Singtel Hi new 5G (together with Gomo) is worst than Singtel's other MVNOs for roaming...

Was in Taiwan a few weeks back. Cannot connect to 5G Chung hwa network on zero1 on Samsung s25.

Not a big deal as long as roaming works

only SIMBA's roaming list indicates whether 5G allowed.

others like eight and VIVIFI never says if 5G allowed. By luck only

No mentioning of rollover for any roaming entitlement as per the terms and conditions.

You have to take it as NO rollover of roaming data...
(Edit: looks like this is not correct, please refer to below posts).

But you can always double confirm with SingTel hi! team using app chat.

There seems to be contradicting information about the rollover of roaming data. The sales page and FAQ dropdown states that roaming data may be rolled over.

However the full FAQ page explicitly states that unused roaming data will not be rolled over.

The T&C for postpaid hi also has no provision on rollover of roaming data.

The full FAQ page also contradicts the T&C on rollover limits, perhaps it is out of date.

Ah, you are right about the roaming data rollover. Looks like it can be rolled over.

Indeed the Full FAQ is outdated. You can see it mentions no 5G plan.

4. Are there any features that cannot be used on the Singtel hi! plan?
Singtel hi! does not support these features:
Roaming calls/SMS services while overseas
Outgoing local calls to 1900 numbers
Incoming and outgoing video calling
Incoming and outgoing MMS
Outgoing Global SMS
Transfer of ownership

5G

I mentioned the following in another post.

+++++++ the bottom of the new Singtel hi! website ++++++
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi
Read full FAQ --> outdated

New to Singtel hi! from heya? View guide (still valid)

For $12 and $5 hi! Plan terms and conditions, click here. --> T&Cs updated but the desciptions needs to be updated.

For $15 hi! Plan and Tourist SIM terms and conditions, click here. --> should remove this line.

BTW, please take note there is another Singtel hi! S$15 5G+ SIM Card and data plan which is PrePaid.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans/hi-sim-cards
https://www.singtel.com/personal/terms/prepaid-mobile-terms

The above S$15 hi! 5G+ Prepaid SIM used to be at the same SingTel hi! website and caused a lot of confusions. Now they removed most of the things. But the bottom part has not been updated, including the FAQ.

I think Singtel didn't update the T&C for 5G postpaid yet. Hopefully can get roaming data rollover.

Btw 2 days ago I wrote I couldn't get 5G connectivity but yesterday I could get 5G at same locations. Speed test is much faster and I'm happy now. The only reason I may still switch to Zym/Vivifi is because Hi 5G plan cannot receive calls while roaming, which I need for my main line.

Receive calls by WhatsApp should not be a issue right?

@xiaofan Newly refresh 5G+ SingTel Hi! $13 (Port In)/$15 which I think is now at postpaid vs GOMO 5G+ Value $18.33 indeed both are very competitive as they are even more similar. Even the 4G $5 Hi! vs 5G+ $6 GOMO Senior plan also equally competitive.

Hi! offer rollover, GOMO doesn’t and I think they should merge these 2 brand together to create a real fight with it’s competitors.

What is the differences in value proposition between Gomo and Hi! now? What is their target market?

No idea now...

Used to be clear since SingTel hi! postpaid plans were 4G only when initially launched.

For seniors, Gomo may still have an edge with the 5G senior plan as SingTel hi! Senior plan is 4G only.

I will not be surprised later Gomo would be absorbed into SingTel hi! brand, but probably not so soon.
