Dilemma if I shld switch over to hi plan from zero1
Zero1 5G plan advantages/disadvantages:
- Zero1 can receive calls while roaming, Hi is blocked
- Zero1 less roaming countries than Hi but has the 1-time 30Gb 190+ countries offer
- Zero1 more expensive $15/mth (vs port in to Hi 5G postpaid $13/mth for 1st year)
- Zero1 CS takes approx 1 week to respond to tickets (not sure about Hi support speed but I think should be better)
- Zero1 eSIM can be installed/downloaded max 3 times afterwhich must pay $5.45 (Hi unlimited eSIM installs; replacement cost $5.00 I think)
- Zero1 no rollover data provisions; Hi 5G postpaid have rollover (however details not clear yet)

I have tried both and both are equally good. Depending on your needs should be good either way.

Good comparisons.

Just want to point out the first point is a good or bad thing depending how you look at it.

Zero1 (or Zym, or VIVIFI or CMLink) and SingTel proper, allow roaming voice call (incoming and outgoing) and outgoing roaming SMS, but it is based on Pay As You Go rate, so you may get bill shock. Good thing is that Zero1, Zym, VIVIFI and CMLink seem to add a new feature to allow 10 minutes of free roaming incoming call recently.

SingTel hi! Postpaid plan and Gomo block roaming voice call (incoming and outgoing) and outgoing roaming SMS, but then no bill shock.

The 5G plan confirmed rollover for 6 mths?

I believe it will have rollover based on SingTel hi! homepage.

https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi
*****
Comes with

500GB 5G+ (SG, MY, ID, TH, HK)
18GB APAC roaming + China + S. Korea + Japan
8GB Worldwide roaming (60+ destinations)
600 IDD mins
100 Myanmar mins
Unlimited local calls and SMS
Unused data, roaming & IDD roll over for up to 6 months

5. Can I roll over my unused data, calls and SMS?

Unused local data, roaming data, calls and SMS can be rolled over if you purchase another Singtel hi! plan before the expiry.
****

Still it is probably better to double confirm with SingTel.

There seems to be contradicting information about the rollover of roaming data. The sales page and FAQ dropdown states that roaming data may be rolled over.

However the full FAQ page explicitly states that unused roaming data will not be rolled over.

The T&C for postpaid hi also has no provision on rollover of roaming data.

The full FAQ page also contradicts the T&C on rollover limits, perhaps it is out of date.

Ah, you are right about the roaming data rollover. Looks like it can be rolled over.

Indeed the Full FAQ is outdated. You can see it mentions no 5G plan.

4. Are there any features that cannot be used on the Singtel hi! plan?
Singtel hi! does not support these features:
Roaming calls/SMS services while overseas
Outgoing local calls to 1900 numbers
Incoming and outgoing video calling
Incoming and outgoing MMS
Outgoing Global SMS
Transfer of ownership

5G

I think Singtel didn't update the T&C for 5G postpaid yet. Hopefully can get roaming data rollover.

Btw 2 days ago I wrote I couldn't get 5G connectivity but yesterday I could get 5G at same locations. Speed test is much faster and I'm happy now. The only reason I may still switch to Zym/Vivifi is because Hi 5G plan cannot receive calls while roaming, which I need for my main line.

@xiaofan Newly refresh 5G+ SingTel Hi! $13 (Port In)/$15 which I think is now at postpaid vs GOMO 5G+ Value $18.33 indeed both are very competitive as they are even more similar. Even the 4G $5 Hi! vs 5G+ $6 GOMO Senior plan also equally competitive.

Hi! offer rollover, GOMO doesn’t and I think they should merge these 2 brand together to create a real fight with it’s competitors.

I agree that they are getting more and more similar now.

I will still say that Gomo S$6 Senior plan is better as it is 5G compared to the 4G only Singtel hi! Senior Plan.

I will not be surprised later Gomo would be absorbed into SingTel hi! brand, but probably not so soon.

I just tested again Hi 5G postpaid in Taiwan and speed is in the low 10Mbps (phone showing 5G). Eight, Vivifi and Giga in the same 2 locations all showing > 200Mbps. Perhaps Singtel handicapped Hi roaming speed so it doesn't kill off Gomo (unfortunately I don't have Gomo anymore to test) or the other Singtel MVNOs.

just curious what is the official app hi! plans uses? Mysingtel app?

They have an official hi app

MySingtel -- for Singtel mobile postpaid plans, Singtel Fibre and Singtel TV customers
Singtel hi! -- for Singtel hi! postpaid plans
Singtel hi! Prepaid -- for prepaid

Singtel Hi is offering 1 year plans on lazada

$12 4G , billed as $120 per year. Equal to $10 per month.

Not worth at the moment as singtel is already offering $10 per month ($2 discount) for 12 cycles if you port in. Without the 1 year upfront commitment.

https://s.lazada.sg/s.3BdZN

Same offer at Shopee SingTel hi! Shop.

https://sg.shp.ee/U852PeZm

Both have not offered the S$15 5G postpaid plan yet.

Good thing: you can use platform vouchers and redeem coins.

Like that means hicard APN is lesser priority den e-ideas?
Priority no idea .... e-ideas is the main Postpaid plan.. ST Mvnos are using also.

Google AI:

The primary difference between the hi-card and e-ideas APN (Access Point Name) settings in Singapore lies in the type of Singtel service being used:
hicard (hi-card): Generally used for Singtel Prepaid SIM cards and some prepaid-based Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) like GOMO or Grid Mobile.
e-ideas: Used for Singtel Postpaid mobile plans, including most SIM-only, contract plans, and some partner SIMs
