I tested the 4G (Hi Senior Plan) in JB & Penang recently, both get around 10Mbps while the same location with Simba (4G) can get 60-70Mbps. I am aware that it is location dependent. May be 5G will be better. Singtel Hi (4G) is fast in Sg but so far my experience in M'sia is unsatisfactory.

Myth debunked!

SingTel Hi postpaid roaming doesn’t cap at 10mbps.
You have to changed APN to hicard.

Tested at Aeon Terbaru with 2 different Android devices.

Unfortunately I didn’t test it on my iPhone.

so it is better to use hicard apn (primary use for prepaid) the e-ideas

SingTel is really weird, we shouldn’t have to do any setting change and to be as seamless as possible be it local or roaming, why e-ideas got “capped” yet hicard no cap.

SINGTEL SINGAPORE

Singtel Singapore’s revenue was down 3% as a result of structural price competition in its consumer business. This was partially offset by resilient enterprise growth which now accounts for more than half of Singtel Singapore’s revenue. With lower operating revenue and investment in spectrum, EBIT was lower. Singtel Singapore will continue to execute its tri-brand strategy (Singtel, Gomo, Hi!) while closely monitoring the evolving competitive landscape after the regulator suspended its review of the proposed industry consolidation.

Seems Gomo and Hi! will continue to be standalone, no consolidation.

Looks like there is a new $20 plan ($18 for 12 months with port-in) with local data all across ASEAN:

700GB 5G+ (ASEAN, HK, SG)

ASEAN: Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam

36GB APAC roaming + China + S. Korea + Japan

10GB Worldwide roaming (60+ destinations)

1000 IDD mins

100 Myanmar mins

Unlimited local calls and SMS

Unused data, roaming & IDD roll over for up to 6 months
