Hi xiaofan,

Thanks for the prompt response. My main concern is the speed/stability/reliaiblity.

I'm very layman when it comes to networking, but I guess the oem ones from Singtel are cfm lower spec than the asus since its distributed to the masses.

So technically i can just replace the Singtel router with my Asus RT-AX82U without much configurations?

Now i am getting occassional 500mbps from the Singtel router. Will i see improvements on the RT-AX82U?

Thanks again!

For Wireless speed, it depends on your wireless client. I got between 700Mbps to upper 800Mbps last time using RT-AX82U (now using RT-AX86U).

As for the setup of Asus routers, it is not difficult. Just follow the steps from Asus.
Using web UI -- recommended

Using Asus router app

I believe you are using ONR, so you may want to set up your RT-AX82U in AP mode.

Recently i gotten two Singtel wifi6 askey mesh extender. I set up A as AP connected to the ONR. Then I pair the B. However due to poor signal to the second one wirelessly, i end up wiring B to lan as the backhaul. Just wana check, in this case, is it consider as 2 AP (same SSID) and how will 2 AP affects the signal as compare to 1AP 1 node.

Singtel ONT > Asus Router > 2 x Singtel Wifi Extender AC2600 (both wired backhaul mesh).

Can Singtel Mesh router be added as a primary or 3rd node with all 3 wired backhaul?

When I connect Singtel Mesh router to Asus router, as expected, it automatically runs in AP mode.

If I then follow the instruction to add the extenders as nodes to Singtel Mesh router using WPS button, while they can be added, the 2 extenders seems to be connecting via wireless because their status changed from ethernet to 5Ghz and distance apart becomes an issue even if they are still connected to ethernet i.e. not show as connected in network topology.

Sorry I cannot help much here.

If this is what you get, then you have to get another Singtel Mesh Extender and give up on the Singtel Mesh Router.

Maybe you can contact Singtel for help.

a good rule of thumb is to not to mix & match (especially the Brands), just to solve your coverage issue...

even though there's such thing as 'Easymesh', but i'm truly skeptical about it (maybe it's just me lol).

if i were you, i'll get extra units of Asus products just to create a Mesh network on top of the ASUS Wireless Router

Anyone here knows how to hack the SingTel Mesh Router? I want to change the IP addres. It’s hadrcoded at 192.168.1.254. Which works with the SingTel ONT. I have recently switched provider to ViewQwest the ONT is 192.168.1.1. Basket! SingTel Mesh Router does not allow you to change it’s IP address. Wtf. We paid for it over time. Now we cannot use it with other provider? Anyone knows how?
