No. TP-Link Deco Mesh (Deco BE25) is not compatible with TP-Link EasyMesh (HB611-SGST)

You can mesh it with other TP-Link EasyMesh compatible routers, like another HB611-SGST, HB810 or HB710. HB710 is from Starhub or MR but it will also work.
But ChatGPT says can. Am i misunderstanding something here?

can i use tplink be25 to extend wifi of tplink HB611-SGST ?

Ah, got it — you're referring to TP-Link BE25 (a Wi-Fi 7 range extender) and TP-Link HB611-SGST (a router or gateway, possibly from an ISP like Globe or PLDT that uses rebranded TP-Link hardware).

✅ Yes — You can use the TP-Link BE25 to extend the Wi-Fi from the TP-Link HB611-SGST.

Here’s how and what to watch out for:

🔧 Setup Options

Option 1: WPS (Easy Method)

If both devices support WPS:

  1. Plug in the BE25 near the HB611-SGST.
  2. Press the WPS button on the HB611-SGST.
  3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the BE25.
  4. Wait until the BE25 connects (LED indicator will show connection success).
  5. Move the BE25 to a spot where the signal is still strong but closer to your dead zone.

WPS is usually the easiest method if both devices are TP-Link.

So you are using TP-Link Archer AX72? It is a dual band WiFi 6 router.

Looks like you are using wireless backhaul (no LAN port in the study room), TP-Link Archer AX72 is not a good mesh solution in this case. A more expensive triband mesh solution is recommended.

Anyway, you can still try to experiment with the placement of the second Archer AX72, usually it should be somewhere in between the main router and the study room.

You may want to post the floor plan with details of the location of the ONT/ONR, main AX72, and LAN ports in the rooms if any.

1. Basically ChatGPT says that you can use the TP-Link Deco BE25 as a range extender (wireless repeater) to the HB611-SGST. Seamless roaming may not work in this case.

2. That is different from a mesh solution where you get better seamless roaming. TP-Link Deco mesh technology is not compatible with TP-Link EasyMesh technology.

Can Deco Mesh, OneMesh, EasyMesh and Omada Mesh products work together?

While TP-Link's Deco, Archer Router, and Omada EAP all support Mesh functionality individually, they are not designed to work together to form a single Mesh network. These product lines, although under the same brand (TP-Link), differ in their technology and software, preventing them from interoperating in a unified Mesh network, you may still be able to use them together, but they won’t be able to form a single, unified Mesh network. In other term, if you use an Archer Router and a Deco system together, there won’t be any seamless roaming between the Router and the Deco system.

Hi, this is my floorplan. the LAN port, ONT and AX72 is located at "X" (inside the tv console). The wifi connection in main bedroom and br2 are pretty bad. Unfortunately there are no other lan ports available.
What would be the recommended solutions for my case? thank you.

Thinking of putting the other AX72 in bedroom2 as it's my study room. Bedroom3 if really no choice.

1) Yes you can try to experiment with the placement. Lower your expectations as well.

2) If the above experiment does not work very well, you can also get a pair of TP-Link Power Line adapters to use as the backhaul, the speed will be pretty limited but may still be better than using wireless backhaul.
https://www.tp-link.com/sg/home-networking/powerline/

Main Archer AX72 router in the living room --> Power Line adapter in the living room --> power line connections --> Power Line adapter in the master room --> second Archer AX72 mesh node

Example: TP-Link 2-Port Gigabit PT PL Starter Kit (TL-PA9020PKit AV2000) at S$109 a pair

Thank you for the links. so the most straightforward and simplest way to implement mesh in my house now is to get another HB611-SGST (from carousell) to pair with the existing HB611-SGST, so that wifi range can be extended to the further rooms?

You may want to check with Singtel to see how much they will charge HB611-SGST.

Other options -- HB801 from Singtel as main router (more expensive).

Yet other options -- HB710 from Starhub (not suppored by Singtel).

Hello, sorry I do need some help as well. Been trying the past week but haven't been able to figure it out.

I have

1x Nokia XS-240X-A XGS ONR
1x TP-Link Archer AX72 | AX5400 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router
1x TP-Link RE505X Extender
2x Singtel Wifi 6 Mesh Extender (Arcadyan-Router)

Currently have the ONR connected to a Mesh Extender in the living room, and one Mesh Extender in one (of three) bedrooms. I have a desktop in the room furthest from the living room that needs a LAN cable, so I am using the RE505X to do that but the connection keeps dropping. The TP-Link router and extender are from my partner's house so I'm trying to reuse and not have to buy anything new if I can. Is there a way I can utilise the AX72 to be the router, and then have a Router in each room there after?

Attached a floorplan if it helps.

Thank you in advance

Good news, Singtel has extended the support of Singtel Mesh Router and Singtel Mesh Extender, in case if you are still using them.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont

Somehow Singtel has updated the webpages and there are two significant changes and one minor change.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/troubleshoot-by-router
I mentioned in the above post on 27 Jan 2025.
Now the situation is totally different for the above two -- they are no longer supported.
If you are still the above two models, you may want to double confirm with Singtel. If confirmed, you may want to change to another model.

Singtel now provides HB611-SGST for 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plans, and HB810 for selected more expensive 10Gbps plans.
