what he is trying to say is the refurbish set he got from telco no longer matches the serial number on the original retail box and that will greatly reduce the resale value of the device.

i get what his saying, just asking another question

I doubt even singtel or the other 2 telcos will know if it's refurbished set or not. Apple is apparently very strict with their exchange so I am sure the telcos were instructed to just use those set that are in the plain white box for any exchange, don't think they will tell them if it's brand new or refurbished set. That's why when I went for an exchange the other time, the guy say it's sealed exchange set direct from apple but he never said it's a brand new set, guessing that he also not sure if it's totally new.

I exchange because of the poorer than expected battery life. Kinda regretting it now because I checked the serial number and the exchange set was manufactured 3 weeks before my original one and also the battery life is the same as before. Not to mention the phone s/n doesn't match the box anymore.

may i know go which website to check when was the iphone manufactured?

I damn suay. Yesterday went to buy iPhone 5 at CPT M1, only allowed to open 2 sets due to limited stock. First set have discoloration by the side, the second set got very minor chip off... No choice took the 2nd set.

But very happy with it. It's freaking thin, light and fast!

To TS, all replacements are Apple refurbs... But Apple checks them very very strictly.

Is it model specific? Are these imperfections just the black model or the white model?

black model easier to see the scruffs since it is contrasting in colours, scruffs will reveal the alu colour under the black 'paint'.

When are they going to resolve this scuff gate issue?? Worse is we didn't reject defective units then later warranty void coz they say there is physical damage.. Possible?

cant solve the scuff problem.. coz they use anoxidised coating on top of alu cover. it's similar to paint. so, a small scratch is good enough to reveal the metal under it.. no solution for it, unless they change the whole production process which is impossible. best way is just to buy a bumper for it.

I read that. I am asking why did you stop at two?

cos she can only open 2 for me, unless as another brother suggest, to walk off without signing contract, i was thought of doing that, but the lady that serve me was nice and i honestly tot comcentre would replace me a new set instead of a replacement set. so i traveled to comcentre but....
