Yes, it is brand new singtel set.
Had called Whymobile and they only told me to argue with Singtel, they couldn't help much.

Singtel say will only honour with the ex-owner identity copy + undertaking letter.
Anybody did it before?

It is so risky to buy resale set now when the Telcos is having so much restriction.

True...for new buyers.. try to buy only new sets originally gotten from Apple store.

Anyways.. just call Singtel and share with them what actually happen. Ask them, who is gonna honour the warranty??

I bought a new iphone5 from whymobile with receipt.
Now due to network problem, need to send for repair. I called in Singtel, they requires the previous owner NRIC copy and original undertaking letter from previous owner to allow me to claim for the warranty repair.

Obviously this cannot be done, what can I do now?
Now become getting a phone with no warranty:(

you got tell singtel you brought the phone from a mobile shop? got show them the receipt from whymobile?

Yes, told them and show to them.
But they dont buy it.

They insist the registered owner come down personally or undertaking letter from him + copy of NRIC of him.

Okay that's strange.... But in the first place since when has iPhone been registered to the owner. I thought this kind of thing only applies to blackberry... :o

Dan u shld ask the staff WHO is going to honour the warranty.

Ask that specific question to them.

if its a singtel set and there is no water damage, wads the problem?

in this case can I go back singtel for an exchange? yesterday they asked me to check for cosmetic faults but I fail to look out for the tiny little scratch. but cannot fault me what, that scratch is small and deep, will bubble my screen protector.... how ah?

please advise, fellow users

Live with it... don't think they'll allow you to exchange in my experience. Unless it was bought from the Apple Store online

Just quick question.
Do we still hv to pay for nano SIM card fees if we recontract from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5.?
I thought it was waived for recontract.
I just argued with retailer. Last week I just recontract my gf one and there is no charge for that nano sim.
Thanks.

Yeah same thing happened to me too.

I have 3 iPhone5 and all of them, the power button kong off !

So I goto comcentre, will they do an exchange 1-1 or will they first try to find fault to void warranty ?
