Bare bones brand - The Ordinary

You need to ship it from overseas though.

don't buy from this website (it is much cheaper if you get it from 3rd party websites like Cultbeauty)
but just a show and tell about their product line

Vitamin A = https://theordinary.com/product/rdn-advanced-retinoid-2pct-30ml?redir=1
Vitamin B3 = https://theordinary.com/product/rdn-niacinamide-10pct-zinc-1pct-30ml?redir=1

Vitamin C

https://theordinary.com/product/rdn-ascorbyl-glucoside-solution-12pct-30ml?redir=1

to be added to your moisturizer (pure powder) = https://theordinary.com/product/rdn-100pct-l-ascorbic-acid-powder-20g?redir=1

this is interesting because Niacinamide is the least risky one among the ABCs. In fact, most people with sensitive skin are ok with Niacinamide but is sensitive to A and C.

I think you should give Niacinamide a try again but perhaps switch to another brand.

I'm pretty sure it's niacinamide because I bought both cerave moisturising lotion and cerave pm moisturiser.

Moisturising lotion was O-Kish but PM made my whole face red and stinging.

I will love to give niacinamide a try again but I'm really not sure if I should

Hi guys - I have a question relation to sun block for the face. Usually I would just use the same sunblock that I use on my body - but should I be using something different for face?

I use different sunblock for face and body. I feel the face sunscreen is more ex and abit wasteful to use so much on the body. Body I'll use high SPF but cheaper one :s13:

in theory, you should use a different one

but if all along you have been using the same one and have no issue, why bother changing right??

do make sure it has no alcohol though since you are using it for the face

Hey renzo, care to share your routine?

Morning Routine
  • Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution
  • Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%
  • Pycnogenol 5%
  • SHISEIDO Anessa Perfect UV Mild Milk
Might be switching out the Ethylated Ascorbic Acid to L-Ascorbic Acid powder form because 3 serums are somewhat too oily in texture and I find it hard to absorb.

If money is of no concern I will be replacing all 3 serums with this product instead:
https://www.sephora.sg/products/allies-of-skin-1a-all-day-pollution-repair-mask/v/50ml

because it has Teprenone, which I talked about from an earlier post, on top of Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, which is a form of vitamin C that is touted to be stronger than L-Ascorbic Acid, and also Niacinamide and many other very beneficial ingredients. but as we all know, money doesn't grow on trees

Night Routine
  • Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion
  • Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
  • A serum from Placenta
  • Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (if i decide to sleep in aircon)
Unless otherwise stated, all products are from The Ordinary (https://theordinary.com/product)

Disclaimer :
Let me reiterate that The Ordinary is a brand for people who know what they are doing. It is not a simple question as to "is it good?", if you have no idea what I am talking about this brand is not for you

I suffered an outbreak for 1 week because a new moisturizer I got from Clinique has both salicylic acid and glycolic acid. You are not supposed to use AHA/BHA with Retinol and I didn't read properly before the purchase.

You got use toner?

Toners were originally meant to help restore the skin pH level back to the normal range (around 5.5) after washing

I find the toners these days to be full of nonsense and marketing
so remember toners don't have to be expensive at all

I am using this

3147758030297_ToniqueConfort400ml_1000x1000.jpg

will be switching to Missah Time revolution essence once my stock runs out
