Research done over the internet, travel guide books and speaking with people who has done the trip. Happens that my best friend lives in Beijing. Only met up for dinner. Didn't stay in Beijing this trip as I have been to Beijing a few times. No friends in any of the cities that I'll be stopping. Only when I depart from St. Petersburg, I'll be heading to Mannheim to meet my brother who's studying there.

thanks 4 info, been wanting to do it but freting over stuff n security, but encouraged by ur posts...hope 2 do a bike trip like ur bro (tink u mentioned it earlier)!

be safe for ur trip too! ^^

Went to change some MNT as I wasn't sure if the little MNT I had on me was enough to pay for a meal!
The bank closes at 8pm and not 4.30pm! Was a tad bit worried that I will have to have cup noodles if I don't have sufficient MNT.

As I was having a really bad headache and a mild cold and not having any proper meals for the last 48 hours, decided to have something safe!

Kinda surprised when I saw "solo".

Always thought ts is a female and a local female backpacking alone?

Awesome! :D

What's the stop you will be going, between Beijing and Tianjin?

I've been to Guangzhou, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Beijing, Tianjin, Harbin, and Shanghai. If you need info on these places, I can help a bit.

I've been to HCM, Dalat, Hanoi and Halong Bay. I don't have much info on these places though.

How are you traveling? My brother cycled (yes, on a bicycle) from Singapore to China to Tibet to Kathmandu in 6-7 months last year.

I took a 5.5hr 300+km/hr train ride from Beijing to Hangzhou, never alight at tianjin. I mostly travel by train, bus, public buses

Department store, with LV, Guicci, etc. I'm not sure how the locals can afford it!
