Download BitDefender Free Edition and run a full system scan...

How does it work? I downloaded bitdefender antivirus free edition and right clicked it and click full system scan but it only says on demand...

In future if you every find a hacker controlling your computer, immediately cut the network connection, boot your computer into safe mode, download software like malwarebytes, hitmanpro, put into USB and transfer it into your computer.

Install, scan. Best is reformat. Never store your passwords in browsers. They may be convenient but they are also notoriously unsecured. Use a password manager.

Dont install things that you are unsure of.
Dont use your real name in your user name face palm.
Dont use the same passwords for all your accounts
Your Email account is VERY CRITICAL. Use a very secure password and enable 2 factor authentication.
Enable 2 factor for facebook also

I already tried it with malwarebytes and they showed 0 infected devices so I'm safe?

Yes one thing I regreted is that I use the same password, i remember seeing it somewhere that u should never use the same password across your accounts

I keep all the passwords in a Word file which is encrypted and password protected.

Edit: There is also an unprotected version stored offline in case I messed up the protected version.

For me i used password-encrypted Excel for all my 50+ online accounts....

I see... Ok thanks guys I will do that too, one last thing, should I ever want to change my identity as in I don't want to use this username anymore because it contains my real name, should I change my profile picture also or can i continue using the same profile picture?

I will be sleeping now, hope the hacker don't strike again... Haven't slept ytd because of this id*ot hacker

Next time if you want to check for hackers you can use Event viewer then use the System tab in windows logs.

I once went in and saw a shetload of warnings and I traced down a rouge app that didn't anything but that tried to access other computers!

Thank god my network is built safe from day one.

I think I would just like to share that the 2FA is just another line of defence, it's not invincible. Even with it in place (SMS authentication), my wife's debit card was still misused by hackers three weeks ago. The bank is still processing her report.

hmmm... most big ecommerce sites only use 2FA when you make your purchase with a new credit card number ma? Once authenticated for the first time then they will not prompt for 2FA liao no meh? Shopee still does it everytime which I like though

i used keepass before, one day i forgot my password and lost all of my accounts
