Very disappointed with Sony, bought a KD-55X8000H 3 years ago, just little over 3 years, the screen fail me with flickering and ghosting image. Have anybody encounter this before? Went to service centre and was quoted 900+! Call service hotline, they teach all sort testing via software setting but does not help. Quite sure is the hardware quality issue.

I always thought Sony is a high quality brand, after this experience, i might as well invest in a lower end brand with give 3 years warranty like TCL or Prism+. Do you guys have any recommendation?

That sucks. At $900 you're better off buying a new TV. Can consider getting the LG CX OLED on clearance sale, or wait a few months and get the 2021 LG C1 OLED when their launch inflated price are gone.

yup its really feel sucks! i think TCL or Prism+ will have better quality with a fraction of price. This really change my perception of Sony Tv as premium brand.

There are so many ways to do this. This is one of the method.

from your google play store

download and install any of these. There are tonnes of apps.
[File Commander] or {X-plore File Manager]

separately, you can download your apk and copy it to a USB drive.

Connect your USB drive to TV.

From either of the File manager search for the file and launch to install.
Some file need Security & Restrictions - Verify Apps to be set to OFF.

Once done you need to eject your USB via the [Device Preferences/Storage] Select your External drive and Eject.

Good Luck

Just saw a A80J/C1/G1 OLED TVs at BD. There is indeed a matt finish on the A80J's panel, as explained in this youtube post:

I find the matt panel surface suppressing black "pop" or contrast, giving me a feeing that it is using a lesser panel compared to all other OLED panels, including old gen ones from Phillip's and Panasonic's.

Feel like cancelling my pre-order and switch to LG C1, saving some $$ at the same time..

More bad news about A80J.. before calibration, which probably justifies why the A9G series (2019 models) cost more than A80J for their equivalent sizes even now despite the absence of XR processor and HDMI 2.1 capability.

Interesting, probably good for rooms with direct sunlight/better reflection handling etc but can see why to some it will be a turn off. What's the price of the A80J?

The 77" A80J retails for about 12k.
The question will be whether you can discern the differences between it and the G1..

Should I upgrade my Z9D to A90J?
Your Z9D is still a legendary LED TV and if you don't game on your TV or watch Sports (where the Z9D is weaker at due to the slower response time of its panel), I wouldn't upgrade just yet. Sony has been struggling to push their remaining HDMI 2.1 features such as VRR, while all other competitors have VRR at product launch since last year. The 2020 X900H featured a broken 4K 120 implementation which exhibits blur and is still not fixed. There are sources claiming that 4K 120 is impossible to fix due to a hardware design fault in that model. The X900H owners especially in the AVSForums owners thread have been expressing their disappointment with their purchase and there's quite a handful claiming they got refunds.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Sony-...-despite-issuing-a-firmware-fix.510926.0.html

This means that there's a chance for the VRR feature update to also be a mess like the 4K 120 feature update. LG has already pushed these features at launch on their OLEDs such as the CX last year and there's no issues so it is disappointing to see Sony struggle at this. VRR won't be available to the A90J till this update hits which Sony simply claims "Winter 2021".

If these does not bother you than go for the A90J otherwise its best to wait next year for Sony to iron things out or consider an OLED from LG if you're in a rush.

Your Z9D is still one of the brightest sets around that is almost twice as bright as the OLED TVs, and offers OLED like blacks, with no burn in and 3D capability as the icing.
