Since I encounter this problem before with my Xperia 5 first gen.
My advice is if the issue comes back do a software repair using
Xperia companion.

Cuz I remember my set does have such issue after the repair the set was working fine.

Sort of. Backup all your necessary files. Software repair likely reinstall your mobile software. You will also need to reset your APN because every update of firmware will also create some glitches. (Noticed when I setup my xperia 5IV . Download all the firmware updates at 1 go then the 5g also went a bit haywire)

For first two set of photos, Xperia 1V seems to pull more details from shadows ( esp the darker ceilings ) and suppresses highlight blowouts ( playstation white cabinet ) more than Xperia 1VI.

Picture modes different? 1V doing some kind of HDR ?

Auto mode will do HDR de. Only Sony HDR not as high level as other. That's why auto mode (both basic and photo pro) usually produces a very good quality photo.

Perhaps in mk6 they are trying to tone down the computational wizardry that most phone makers do.. overly HDR and high saturation.

Can be a double edge sword since most folks prefer that kind of software overdone look over semi straight out of the camera.
