Which means if I buy one without warranty, have to pray that it won'r die right out of the box

honestly, sony hasnt failed me before 2 years.. the fastest was my z3 which had screen issues just before the 2 year mark..

I agree that Sony stuff tend to hold up well most of the time, just that I a bit more scared this time cos of how the phones are made during a pandemic; have slight concerns about quaility assurance with lack of manpower and delays in repairs due to parts shortage etc

Android 12 for local sets. Now apps and games loaded faster, no major complains except for that silly combined toggle for Data and Wifi.

Yeah so far so good for me too. I find it smoother compared to android 11.

Read an article about this. You can either do factory reset to seperate the data/wifi toggle. Or you can executing the following ADB command:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles "wifi,cell,$(settings get secure sysui_qs_tiles)"
I followed this guide. got it working:

Hi Folks does anyone have issue with the finger reader? My unit coming to 2 yrs of age starts to go crazy on the reader, the last round i did was a full factory reset (luckily) it works. and Now is dead again.

Also can i check whats's the android version you guys are on my is still on Android 10.

Why didn't you update your phone android version? Though there's glitch with NFC service for android 12, but the update might solve your fingerprint sensor issue.

Hey Toader, how to do that? Sorry dam nobb here, i did look at upgrading steps to 11 but got stuck at not knowing which files to down load some sites shows 5, some show 2 ....... if can update to 12 am sure happy to do so cos i too think is a software issue cos after factory reset it works well.

Checking on the software update keep telling me i am already on the latest which is irritating also cos web shows 5II can already support 11 and i=in here seems some are on 12

Wa your 5II purchased from which country? Hongkong set? If yours is SG set it should arrive soon. (Android 12 for xperia 1II has reached SG .)
