64GB but with optional SD upgrade. Tough luck when you are running dual sims. But if you are willing to backup often to your PC, shouldn't be an issue. A phone is after all just a phone, it's not a mobile storage device anyway. 64GB is just about right for all phones now. People are going cloud anyway.
4GB, a bit too little. The norm should be 6GB now. XZ2 with 4GB can understand, but i expect the XZ3 to have at least 6GB.
What's wrong with Sony? XZ2 Premium and now the XZ3 still stuck on 64gb base and 4GB RAM? And outpriced for the config we are getting. It's a shame Sony never ever learns to move ahead. 128GB/6GB should be the default for 2018 yet they releasing **** configs like 64GB/4GB still.
Sony optimised their Xperia Home UI very well that it works smoothly even if the phone is only equipped with 4GB RAM.4GB on other brands I think would lose a lot to Sony 4GB..

But it's better to have more RAM as we do more things on our phones.

I think if most were to run a dedicated dual SIM and have alot of media on the phone, including Netflix downloads and Spotify offline, 64GB is really nothing. It's nothing negative about what I'm saying. It doesn't work for me given that I've really like Sony phones since the Z2. Too bad they are really too slow to update core specs like storage and RAM cause their software is really solid.
Main issue about SD cards these days is that I cannot install APPs into the SD cards. Cant install whatsapp chat to SD Card, Can't have auto download for SD Card. SD card for what I also dunno..
Apps all on phone mem.

Have better than don't have.
Like Apple,no chance to use sd card at all.
That's even worse..but fans disagree
Many Android flagships now doesn't feature SD card slots already, especially Chinese flagships. The fruity users are used to paying more for higher internal storage, which is nonsense to me.
I still prefer the SD card, which unfortunately is not available in some android phones (xiaomi).
This is the distinction between android and fruit, which is the case for now and then.
photos I have a dedicated camera (dslr and point and shoot). Music I have a standalone music player..
Its mainly the apps issue that really cheeses me. Old versions of android could do that. Then they suddenly changed it. idk why.
This is the problem from Google.
Referring to pixel phones, anyone can see that they are trying to phase out SD cards.
It is therefore no surprise that they removed the option to install apps into SD card storage in their newer firmwares.
And Sony being the cautious maker, does not attempt to include this feature since it is omitted by Google in the newer Android versions.
However this feature is still available but only by means of rooting or third-party apps.
There is also the developer options with the settings - force allow apps on external.
Not sure how it works though.

Variations in different markets is bad idea.

They are selling XZ3 more expensive than XZ2? What?
