Ifast can buy dimensional funds with SRS. This fund probably is the best we can get with SRS money
Yes, but I think it's worth being a little more precise here.am I right that the withholding tax is for dividend only?
can we use SRS to purchase global stock index?Yes, but I think it's worth being a little more precise here.
The S&P 500 fund domiciled in Ireland pays a 15% dividend tax rate on U.S. stock dividends. That's the tax treaty rate between Ireland and the U.S. The fund manager pays this tax, but it's still a tax that affects you whether you see it withheld or not.
S27 is a feeder into SPY, the U.S. domiciled S&P 500 fund. S27/SPY are subject to 30% U.S. dividend tax. (Plus they're U.S. estate taxable.)
Now, I don't think you (presumably an investor based in Singapore, not a U.S. person, planning to retire in Singapore) should be investing in any S&P 500 stock index fund. I think you're better off picking a global stock index fund such as ISAC or VWRA for that part of your long-term investing journey. A global stock index fund has gobs of exposure to U.S. listed/traded stocks. You're not going to be missing anything exciting in the U.S. stock market with a global stock index fund.
Yes, there are some choices.can we use SRS to purchase global stock index?
Like Lion global infinity or dimension funds lo.Yes, there are some choices.
I love WI ETF. Gives me a level of comfort that allows me to go all in despite the volatility in the market. Even at the worst during 2022, I was relatively unfazed and confident I would come up top. Had it been anything else, I wouldn't have put in as much and won't sleep as wellThe problem with world index ETF is it move too slow for my liking. More concentrated say Japan or India specific ETF rise faster. My own opinion though.
from endowus? But the fee is quite high when the $$ is moreLike Lion global infinity or dimension funds lo.
How are the fees? Same as Endowus?Ifast can buy dimensional funds with SRS. This fund probably is the best we can get with SRS money

Best to check with your srs bank and irasThis might be a naive question. I maxed out my SRS contribution of $15.3k but my SRS tax relief is only $10.7k. My last SRS deposit was on 27 Dec and I'm far from hitting the tax relief cap. Why am I not getting dollar to dollar tax relief? dividend?
1. You deposited cash of 15.3k?
2. Your last deposit on 27 dec = 15.3k less 10.7k? If so, check with your bank, did you fail to meet their cutoff time for submission. Only if your answer to 1 is YES!

You maxed out personal tax relief limit? You already hit the 80k?
