But there's a catch, even though the data, talktime, sms remains the same, it's still consider a change of plan when you upgrade, so any existing data rollover will be reset on your next cycle.

what do you mean? if auto roam, the phone wont find the network?

Giga just recently increased or added monthly roaming to their plans.

If you are on the 10 SGD plan, then now you have 2gb monthly roaming data once your new renewal starts

Depending on your phone and situation, just waiting for the list of networks to show up could take few minutes.
Selecting the network itself is the easy part.

Also when you move out of coverage of 1 network, you need to manually select the other network.

In the best case scenario 1 of the networks will cover you fully.
In the worst case scenario you need to switch network manually regularly, each time few minutes, that can drive you crazy.
