Line is for this trip only.
Getting a plan would still render me unable to use my banking as they are recognising my SingTel number not this esim. Which seems to mean it is unavoidable not to allow roaming on my SingTel number when needing to do banking.
For Singtel I don't see any option, but depending on your reason behind avoiding enabling roaming there might be ways to mitigate the concern.

FREE UPGRADE to 5G just for YOU!

Hihi,

4G is cute, but you deserve better. We’re giving you 5G for FREE. Because you’re awesome like that

original.png
Click "Upgrade now" button on the home screen
How easy is it?
Just 2 clicks and you’re done. Seriously.

Here’s the deal:
- A 5G SIM is needed to enjoy 5G speeds.
- If you don’t have one yet, we’ll prompt you to get it.
- SIM swap fee: $2.04 for Physical SIM or $1.00 for eSIM.

Ready to level up?
Hit that “Upgrade now" button on your homepage and feel the giga difference.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do I have to pay extra to upgrade to 5G?
A:
Not at all! You’ll keep paying exactly what you’re paying now. Same price, just way faster speeds.

Q: When will the change take place?
A: The change to 5G network will kick-in, in your next renewal cycle.

Q: Do I need a new SIM to enjoy 5G?
A: Yes. A new 5G SIM is required to enjoy the benefits of our 5G network. A fee of $2.04 for Physical SIM or $1.00 for eSIM still applies.

Having to pay for sim replacement because of service upgrade significantly downgrades the experience IMO.

It'll be the cheapest 5G plan in Singapore (alongside Simba for non seniors).
Or port to one of the following without paying for sim :

Maxx $10 (good data roaming)
MyRepublic $9.99 (first month free, $9.99 2nd & 3rd mth)
CL $9.90 (12 mth)
Zym $10.10 (180 days)

Just upgraded mine.

Strangely, on the SIM card delivery page, my main line number is issued with a temporary number (exactly the same number as the main line), while my spare line does not have a temporary number.

Yours got issued with a temporary number?

Hope nothing goes wrong with this upgrade.

hmm... if I dont click on the the 5G upgrade, Giga will automatically upgrade me later and pay for my SIM? Come to think of it.. I suspect many of the GIga sims earlier are already 5G ready sim.
