1. Giga uses Starhub network, as they are a sub-brand of Starhub. So far my experience with both Starhub and Giga has been good. No noticeable difference between Singtel and Starhub / Giga. Only major difference I can feel is when entering the lift specifically at my home block, signal drops to H+ and quite a dramatic drop in speed. Somehow this only happens only inside the lift where I stay and it happens at random, not always. All other lifts I entered don't have such issues.

2. Auto Deduct Credit card saved inside the app.

3. Skip the Gino bot. Just press the "Live Chat" button, takes about a minute or two to get connected with a live agent. Service is acceptable for a all digital telco company. I've used it to chat with the Live Agent twice, so far my experience has been a pleasant one.

4. Free Caller ID till Giga changes their policy.

5. No idea.

6. No idea.

How to get to live agent

Oh dear. That’s another confusion again. If roaming is required to receive sms overseas and Giga does not have, then how do those who reported can receive sms do it?

Receiving SMS does not require roaming.

Also note that Giga provides Data Roaming (much alike M1 Data passport, but cheaper):

https://giga.com.sg/FAQs_Details.aspx?FaqCategoryName=Plans&FaqCategoryId=2

gigaRoam ROTW (Rest of the World) pass comes with 1GB at $15, valid for 15 days when you arrive at your travel destination. The 34 supported destinations are Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United States of America.

The above post is both right and wrong.

You DO need roaming otherwise you can't receive SMS as there's no cell network at all.

But I'm guessing Giga is not charging subscribers for the service for receiving SMS while overseas for whatever reason.

So if I just want roaming for the purpose of receiving sms and miss call, is it chargeable?

Noticed that GIGA have no roaming services available for incoming & outgoing calls Nor allowing outgoing sms. But it’s also a fact that users were able to receive sms while overseas.

So without disputing all the posts to date, can any telecom specialists explain how one can receive sms when the provider does not provide roaming services.

You are “roaming” and connecting to overseas networks but data and voice are disallowed on their networks as there is no agreement with giga to provide them. SMSes can still flow while barring voice and data services, most telcos allow sms delivery regardless for roaming subscribers on their network.

Best clarification I have seen so far. Thanks.

Yes yes, please read the explanation below.
Still back to - Receiving SMS does not require roaming.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Some pages later, this question will confirm float up again. :p
