This problem only applies to the situation where you make a call and use data at the same time ?

Thanks.
Yup it’s specific to this scenario. Wife and brother are on GOMO, which also has no VOLTE but they can at least use the 3G to surf while on a voice call. Brother performed a speed test while on GOMO 3G and on a voice call, around 3+Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Giga unable to load the speed test site. Also unable to load google.com or takes more 20 second to.

Is Giga able to load if you just switch to 3G to surf? If cannot meaning Guga 3G is weak

Data bad on 3G but can force the voice call to 3G then ?

Can, speedtest.net is around 6 to 9 Mbps down if 4G is disabled and not on a voice call, i.e. just surfing with 3G only. But once a call is connected, speedtest.net webpage won't load anymore.

Activated mine on 1st Oct. I’m aware giga and MVNOs do not have VOLTE. However the 3G on giga while on a call is really unusable, to the extent of can’t load google.com satisfactorily even. It’s really a deal breaker.

Oh man, I thought starhub has volte and hence giga should have. The newer players all can call and hotspot at 4g speed.

“Starhub” itself has VoLTE while “Giga” using Starhub’s infrastructure as MVNO doesn’t have it. Hence, when voice call comes in, Giga’s network switched to 3G.

Most MVNO doesn’t support VoLTE, meaning voice call take few sec more to establish connection. In which, might result in “unstable” network.

Only M1 MVNOs have VOLTE, such as Geenet, MyRepublic and Circles.life. I have been using one with VOLTE, really make a difference to call quality

KNN giga sibeh ridiculous.

Although I know the giga does not do transfer of ownership, I thought every telco would at least do that in the case where the account holder is deceased.

I tried to take over my father's account even though I told them my father passed away liao, and still they said it was not possible. And suggested to port those numbers out to another telco to do transfer of ownership. Can u see how ridiculous that is? How am I able to sign up for another telco using my father's name when his NRIC is already cancelled? :s22:

Luckily those numbers are just temporary ones and I have not ported in the numbers yet. Really knn.

I think those Virtual Telcos haven't or don't setup the system for ownership issues, that's the bad part. :(

Luckily I still haven't ported the numbers in, otherwise really headache on how to port the numbers into another telco.

I still intend to sign up giga though, this time will sign up 2 more lines under my name and activate on 1st Nov.

I no need to play that card yet. Since my parents' lines are still with StarHub, I have already did a transfer of ownership at StarHub shop, with waiver on the charges given the situation.

So I will just sign up 2 more lines under giga and activate them on Nov 1, before porting over very soon after.
