Those already on Giga have until 30 June to save at least 12.8712871287% per month for as many Giga billing cycles as your Giga account goes thru’ till 28 September 2023.

Ok I went to check in more details about the gift a line promo.

For convenience I just put what I learnt so far about it.

Promo deadline: Activate before 31 August 23

simply follow the steps below:
1. Login to giga app and select the 10GB plan
2. Select “Keep existing number” and fill in your number transfer details
3. Proceed to verify your customer details
4. Select your preferred delivery timesloy
5. Enter gift code and proceed to check out at $1.
6. Once you receive your giga SIM card, your number will be ported over in the next worki
ng day

yes porting is triggered upon delivery of SIM card. It takes just 1 working day for porting to be successful.

Who can buy gift code:
Only giga customers have the power to gift a giga mobile line. BUT the gift code can be used for all new line sign ups, applicable to both new and existing giga customers.

That means the gift code can be used for your same giga account, but for a new line sign up.

Each gift code can be redeemed only once.

Hi, anyone can help me on this. I am an existing Giga account with a line (Number 1). I have another line (Number 2) with another telco, and I have just bought the giftcode.

My login to the Giga apps is via email address and i signed in with the same account that i am using for Number 1.

I selected "add new line", and after keying in the details (i.e. number 2), it pop up a box and prompt me "To confirm Transfer". I did not see the field to enter the giga gift code up to this point, and decided to just cancel the transfer first (As it mention it is non reversible). Can anyone guide me on where can I enter the code for existing Giga account? Is it after confirming the port in?

Thank you.

Key in at the payment step (last step).

To port out of giga, do I need to inform giga? Or no need to inform as the next telco I'm signing will do all the work?

Thanks in advance

You do not have to inform your telco when you port out. The destination telco will inform them, and your current telco (the "donor") will do the necessary terminations automatically once the line has been ported out.

Do not terminate your line before porting out. In any case, if you try to inform your telco, it is possible that some blur CSO may take it as your instruction to terminate, and proceed to terminate your line. If this happens, you lose your number.

So, don't do anything.

Actually why are there much grievances on Giga? I have been using more than 2 years, turning 3rd this. To be fair, the price is fair for what I get in terms of value for data/calls. Before that I was using the orange and green, honestly they suck in value and poorer in retaining customers.

I have a Simba (TPG) as secondary line for $10. Its slightly inferior, but serves good enough as secondary especially on times I need urgent hotspot for laptop outside.

Reception is location based. So it really depends on where you are 90% of the time: home, in-laws, school, work. place of worship, regular malls, etc... What works for me may not work for you.

The general consensus is, go with the telco that best suits your needs. There are cheap plans so you can always run a test over two months before settling. There are only 4 main networks in Singapore, with the virtual telcos riding on them, so since you're on Singtel's network, you may wish to try out StarHub's, M1's, and TPG's.

Customer retention hasn't been a priority for the past 15, 20, even 25 years since before the millenium. :s13:

If customers expect vouchers and promotions to entice them to stay, they are on the losing end of the negotiation. Vote with your wallet and just go with what works best for you.

There's also QCI, so that will affect your experience when there is more congestion (Eg, NDP, Concerts, Chinese New Year in Chinatown, Hari Raya Ramadan bazaar, Christmas shopping at Orchard, etc). More premium plans have higher priority and are not affected by network management algorithms like QCI.

It's not the same as throttling, though to the user it feels throttled.
