Hi,

I just subscribed to Starhub MaxInfinity Fiber Optic and is using DLINK DVG-N5402SP router.

I've connected my DLINK DCS-5220 IP camera wireless to the router. I know it is connected wireless as I can see the video (via dlinkddns server) on my Android phone using 3G data network. However, I can't see the video when I switched to wifi on my android phone or via my laptop. The wifi is working fine as I can still access internet. Believed the router may have blocked the video streaming via wifi. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.

Your Dlink RG does not support loop-back function and that is why when you use your WIFI to point back to internal network address through an internet address, it will not return anything. Certain router such as DLink Dir655 does have this function but too bad the one given by Starhub does not. Your only choice is to set another link in your phone to point to local IP address of your camera when you connect to your internal WIFI.

hi,

The starhub personnel just fixed my opennet setup. They issued me a Huawei GPON Terminal Echolife HG863 and a D-Link dvg-n5402sp. I do believe that the D-LINK is a router. What is the Huawei for then? also, they said that it will be activated tonight but it is still not activated.

Huawei is the ONT box just like cable modem.

you on wireless? able to test with wired? You connected on 300Mbps? 40MHz enabled? Wireless adapter is what? whats your range between router? can change to a different channel? can go closer to router?

my advise: test with a cat5e/cat6 wired and determine what is the speed you can go up before we isolate what exactly is the issue.

my gut feeling tells me the prob lies with your wireless and not ISP.

apa ini? it should be +/- instead of hard capped at 100Mbps.

StarHub, being on Nucleus Connect, does not over provision their fiber service leh. If they do, it is something new. NC ICO Agreement is very clear. RSP submit form to provision the connectivity, it is either in FE or GE port. Next is the line rate to provision.

So, there is no + for those RSPs on NC.

I didn't say Starhub is the 1 that over provision - NC on the other hand, might (which is unlikely though) - not their intention though.

there are alot of factors that i did not spelt out why i am (same goes for others) not getting a flat rate of 100Mbps. I will leave the explanation for others to do so.

Hmmm... Wonder what those factors are. ;)
