Only in the past week youtube has not been the same as before for me. Clearly that outage affected something in their network.

Can MaxInfinity work as follows:

TP -> ONT -> openwrt/tomato router

So we set several VLAN ids. How do we connect however? PPPOE? DHCP? STATIC?

For both those firmwares, I'm able to specify VLAN #, VID

Is this all that's required?

In a nutshell, Bieffe was advising Clock to try using the default setup that SH provisioned (D-Link router->NC/ONT->OpenNet port) provided that Clock did not request SH for direct ONT. Ok wait. I think I was addressing the latter part while you were addressing the former (direct ONT = Dlink unusable part).

i got SH to enable the direct link in Apr13 abt 1 week getting the fibre.

According to SH, after we get them to have a direct connection to the ONT, the DLINK router that they had provided can no longer work.

I tried and for my situation. Does not work.

I did a firmware update as advise from the ASUS RT-N56 thread and got it working for only 1 day. Now, everything goes down again.

Is the below settings compulsory for the ASUS 56 router to get it working ?

Internet: VID 1071 PRIO 1
IPTV (LAN 4): VID 1099 PRIO 1
VoIP (LAN 3): VID 1095 PRIO 1
Authentication: disable
VPN Server: <left blank>
Host Name: S/N of RG. found on sticker on RG
MAC Address: MTA MAC of RG. found on sticker on RG. Device MAC did not work

After the firmware update, I cannot find this advance setting in the WAN tab anymore...

Actually SH supplied RG can be use as normal router (for other RSP) at least for Huawei HG256s, it just whether SH want reconfigure it or not.

For those who still using HG256s and interested to know how, just PM me.

For the advance setting, you are referring to the VLAN ID settings to get the router working? That is found under LAN > IPTV.
