Followed VarunSG's advice but StarHub said that i could not get the 3000 points as i was upgrading from starhub cable broadband to fibre.
Has anyone successfully gotten the 3000 points? I do not want the free D-Link RG.

StarHub wants the re-contract proof that the 3000 point was given instead of the D-Link RG.

i got it with the recent recontract...

but not from cable to fiber.

A month ago, I re-contracted with StarHub. I was unaware that i could get 3000 points in exchange of the RG at that time.

As they have not installed the ONT and RG, I called 1633 to request for direct ONT and the 3000 points instead of the RG. They said that they will get back to me.

The salesperson called and said that the 3000 points could not be given and that he wants me to show him a contract where the customer was given the 3000 points as proof so that he can give me the 3000 points.

I have called 1633 several times already and have gotten the same result...

new installation ?

I have a friend there and can forward your details so this can be looked into. Can you pm me your IC? Also, call again. Note the CSO's name carefully. Note the time of the call. And pm all this to me. No guarantees, but well worth a try IMHO....

I'm on a cable ST mio bb plan+landline(not digital voice) and just signed up for the maxinfinity 100mpbs hubbing (TV/BB) plan recently.

Now I'm thinking whether I should terminate my miotv plan and leave the landline alone on ST or terminate everything with ST and port my number to SH.
Heard the activation for the voice is around $40 and ~$2 plus monthly on top of the current SH plan? Even though they give the D-Link DIR-865L router, I still have to fork out extra 100 bucks for a motorola voice enabled modem or is there like a wireless home gateway I can plug in my old telephone into it ?
For the Digital Voice on SH, can I call overseas and also get incoming calls from overseas?
Sorry for the bunch of questions and hope someone could shed some light on this...
Thanks btw!

The motorola voice enabled modem you can look around and see who want to sell. Those ex boardband user should have the modem. You just need to bring to SH centre and activite.

Else, we can make arrange to exchange with me, I'm using D-link DVG-N5402SP.

But the wifi performance of this router suck.

To have the best of both world, try to get a 2nd hand motorola voice enabled modem, and a Asus router but you need to ask them to do some configuration on the OTN.

According to what I know, they only start to charge you once the internet is up.

When I jump from M1 to SH, I was told not to cancel M1 till I'm happy with the connection.

Today late afternoon, SH guy came and setup my fibre. As he left he told me i still can't use due to some IP issue as i'm on directONT. Told me to wait for 48hrs, and CSO will call me.

@ abt 7, i called up SH CS and was told that everything is up.
Tested and i'm so far very happy with the speed. Worth it i would say.

I didn't opt for the Comex promo. I took up the 3-day NDP promo.

What's the benefit of official direct ONT over unofficial direct ONT?

I need this information to convince my stubborn bro to switch from the latter to the former.

how can it be.

i have checked and determine, it is 1750 Mbps (1300ac+450n)

meaning you should get 300Mbps at least for connectivity. Your adapter might be the issue not the router.

I'm using the tplink wn951n pci wifi adapter, when connected to my older tplink WR841N, it connected at 300Mbps..

Also how do you increase your uploading speed ? Am only able to download outside from my NAS at about 500KBPs..
I've connected it by ethernet cable to the 865l .
I tried Speedtest.net.. it gives me 50Mbps upload speed..

1. check your configuration then. Did you configure it as 20MHz or 40MHz?
2. i don't get what you meant. Are you implying on Wireless or Wired? I don't understand what you meant at all. Could you rephrase it in english please?

Ive left the 865L config as it is.. think its both 20Mhz and 40Mhz ?

I've got a Dlink 320L NAS connected to the Dlink865L by ethernet. I'm using Winscp to download files from the 320L to my office PC.

Anyone using a 320L ?
How fast are you able to download files from your NAS using a outside PC (ie. in your office) ?
Internally at home it can transfer about 25MBps
using windows file transfer.. maybe 500KBps is the max for the 320L after taking into account the encryption required for Winscp..
