There is no need to create 2 SSID if you want. There are pros and cons for either choice though.

i did not create 2 ssid, is sh technical, default configuration got 2 ssid 2.4GHz and 5GHz. different name. my iphone can't see 5Ghz.

my hp notebook on wireless cannot get good speed while my mbp wireless can get 100mbps? i haven't try connect cable.
speedtest not accurate?

Hp notebook and mbp using different adapter. Telling us type of notebook is not going to help a network case here.

Nope. I plugged both my ont and router on the same plug. So when I turned on my plug, they boot up at the same time.

I have no further comment if you do based on the precedence mentioned above.

Hi All,

There was a scheduled maintenance on Mon morning on the Fibre plan and I was notified with an SMS. After this morning, I tried to login to play Sim City however, it couldn't load the server so I went to SimCity Official Website. It had a connection reset error. I called Starhub to inform them about this but they insisted I had to reset my router which I had done nothing to it in the first place.

Now I'm sitting duck with the game and also I couldnt access some of the websites like Warranty Validation as well. All 3G connections show all these sites are up and running except on my desktop, tablet, iphone which were connected to the router.

So does anyone has the same encounter as me?

Same here, my trading software won't connect. Contact my broker and was told nothing wrong with their servers, so after some ping and telnet tests, it is confirmed to be a problem with the starhub connection. Some websites also won't load with Starhub fibre, but no problem connecting to these websites with Singnet.

Starhub's technical support is pathetic, they don't even know that an issue exists with their network. Will have to wait and see they solve the issue soon.

After just one month on their fibre, things don't look good.

Thanks Pal, thought I was alone. Was fixing the issues the whole day. Thought that my router or ONT either one was dying, was trying to reset to default as advised by their COS.
I'm going to make a call tomorrow again if the link doesnt work again... :s7:

Yea, no point wasting time with their technical support. Totally clueless.

Pardon me if this is a known issue. I've just changed to fiber.
Suddenly all my download managers are giving me problem (JDownloader)?
They ran fine previously with cable. I have premium to uploaded.net and they blocked me for 24hrs every time I attempt. They claim that i use "too many ip"??!!
I could run fine with 10 connections per download before without any issue.
Their customer support claims that is starhubs problem. I understand we are on dynamic IP but cable worked fine so why the problem with fiber?
Anyone else has this problem?

Yesterday I tried 2 downloads with 2 connections each and it was fine. Just now tried 4 connection then kanna ban liao. Question is it was fine until I switch to fiber. Therefore should be starhub issue.
I mean the reason why I need more connections is that on 2 connection download speed is too slow. So I'm really feeling that going to fiber is a downgrade.
Uploaded.net said my ISP issue and suggested I use proxy or VPN. Really regret, should have listen to my friends and go for ViewQwest instead.

I feel you man. This post ought to be highlighted. I had signed up for Uploaded a few months ago. Encountered same issue and had to fill up a form to submit to my bank for the refund. Uploaded was not responsive and it took 3 months. It's not entirely their fault though...StarHub should have negotiated with Uploaded to ensure that this would not have happened in the first place.

Starhub uses public IP so it shouldn't be affected by sites blocking though. Will need to escalate very high for them to do something man.

What I find interesting is that it worked flawlessly with cable. Isn't the backend server for both fiber and cable the same?

hmm nope I guess. Could be the reason why fibre was unaffected even though cable broadband as well as StarHub TV and digital voice had an outage recently (nothing to do with bukit panjang fire).
