The 865 has new firmware - try upgrading and see if the problem persists? There was a report of some streaming sites causing an 865 reboot (!!!), which is one of the problems that's apparently been fixed. Another is that 2.4 performance has apparently been improved.

Either way, I'll try with the 865 over the weekend. The ONT really shouldn't matter - it's just a converter.

already updated to the 1.06SHC... so far no problems on normal browsing, youtube, etc. only downloads affected. didnt really download anything stuff before updating to 1.06SHC so not very sure if it was already "broken" back then.

anyways, i tried enabling ipv6, but it doesn't get through at all. google's ipv6 tests still came up negative.

Don't know if this will help you rgds to SH ipv6, I updated mine to 1.06SH then followed it's instruction to turn on ipv6 no prob. I just did test at both google & ipv6 site, all ok.

I see many people here are trying hard for IPv6 even when they admit they are no "experts".

Qns is, what do you actually plan to do with it after getting your IPv6 hooked up?

Web surfing speed is definitely insignificant imo.

that is like saying 1080p and 4k resolution difference is "insignificant".

Seriously? Why would SH block people from downloading stuff? There has to be a limit to conspiracy theories... ;-)

Anyone still up? I'm having major problems accessing some sites that I use to d******d "stuff". Not porn. I can access those sites on my phone, though, through 4G via M1. I'm highly suspiciously that Starhub may have banned those websites :s8::s8::s8:

Anyone having the same problems? And is it POSSIBLE for Starhub to ban those sites due to some media rules :s11::s11::s11:

if websites are banned, it would have the MDA **** thing when you try to access. otherwise, they may just be throttling the speeds there. very common. Starhub did it before, and they will do it again...

That totally makes you a newbie.

I see that all of you are trying hard to get it resolved, blaming endlessly on devices, isp and etc but definitely not yourself

At the end of the day, how much does IPv6 actually impact you at this point of time?

Simi new technology and try out. FulL of nonsense.

You have yet to answer my question after a wall of sarcasm.

I take it that you are the type that see people have it you also want it type.

Laughable.

Please read threads on what did I say about throttling. Stop blaming IsP when I see zero throttle leh.

Omg. Here the people really full of applause.

If STARHUB ban the sites, you will see a green page with whitebackground citing that this page has been blocked by MDA.. and blah blah blah.

And yes it is possible. Of course, there are ways to bypass it as well.

Not going to discuss that here though.

For those having problems bringing up IPv6 via your Dlink routers, follow the directions here: IPv6

After saving settings, do power cycle (off / on) your ONT and router. Make sure that your ONT is ready before powering up your router.

You might want to use Google's DNS server instead for those facing slow access to certain sites:

The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
The Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses are as follows:

2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

BTW, u need not be to be using the provided DIR-865L for this to work. I am using DIR-868L.

This is a free world. Forum is a congregation of novice & experts. So be it there'll be ppl who knows not much, trying to find out more & ppl who knows a lot more, can advice. Yes, I totally admit, I see ppl have, I oso want. So what? Isn't it the way we're created to see, copy & learn? So what if speed not increased, at least I know there're such thing as ipv6, & where I can trigger it. I'm not trying to prove to anyone.

I shall rest my case here, not going con't this irrelevant condemnation. Anyone can con't to bark at me to increase thread counts & be promoted. I shall accept all & thank you.

A real simple soul. I still enjoy all the kind advice rendered by all nice souls here. Cheers.

Finally it's over.

Trigger it without knowing what exactly it does sounds kinda sad.

In that case, you will never know what it does plus when exactly to trigger it if copying is all you ever do.

Didn't Singapore education already taught you about that? Wonder which part of the world's education actually advocates copying/plagiarism? Hmm...

Gosh.
