For 500Mbps plan, they should give you the 868L. At 500Mbps wired speed, you shouldn't notice the difference with your N66U.

I'm on HomeHub 200 and I was given the 868L router just now. Previously I'm also using the N66U. Wireless speed of 868L is faster than N66U. So now I'll be letting go my N66U.

When in living room, 868L and my wireless N laptop gave about 180Mbps, which is considered quite good and is very close to my subscribed speed. SH's technician ac-macbook pro can get 204Mbps. In my room, my laptop readings is about 50-60Mbps. The N66U gave only about 30Mbps in my room.

So wait till they install your 868L and use it and compare with your N66U. Then you decide which one to keep.

I think due to issues to 865, now they give 868. Mine also wrote 865 upon sign up. But during installation is 868.

I use my laptop to test with lan cable..installer din..so i thk mayb is cable or settings...but overall is much better than adsl 6mbps..
