hi guys,

any user of starHub Dual Broadband 200.

can hear your advise?

wanted to get netfilx and i be using my astrill vpn.

i was wondering if starHub Dual Broadband 200 able provide the advertise speed. if so the netfilx should not be a problem

Previously was on 200Mbps, no problem streaming Netflix via Astrill in HD (wireless) via AppleTV or iPad. Speedtest via LAN is 205Mbps for up & down.

Hi all,

Recently signed up with Starhub Homehub 200Mpbs. Been given a DLink DIR-850L.

The router seems to have some issue getting the Internet (Globe button) to be green.

Called the DLink hotline and CSO asked me to clone my notebook's MAC address in the router setup page and then reboot. It works.

But after I off the router after like 1 day plus this morning, and on it in the evening, the amber globe issue came back. Went into the router setup and everything seems ok. Did another manual Internet setup and Internet works again.

Is this normal. Any remedy?

its definitely not normal.

Cloning your mac address into the router setup page is already wrong, let alone the rest.

either the CSO know nuts or the router is lemon and they are being trained to guide you this way to disguise their handicapped router firmware.

OK. Should I demand for a change of modem? Coz I did a direct connection from ONT to my Mac and everything works fine when the router was showing me the amber globe.

If you don't do anything, how long does it takes for the amber globe to turn green ?

Mine took about 5mins+

You can find your answer & solution in Starhub Community Forum -> DIR-850L - No Internet Detected

it's probably just the dir 868l. i always faced the same problem with it. got to enter the router and do some internet configuration before got internet.

but then again, just changed to the ac68u, when i was configuring it, whenever i restarted, iirc i also had to reconfigure some stuff.

just dont off the router+modem i guess...

You can off the router & ONT but when you switched it on, you must switch on the ONT first, let it startup (a few secs) before you can switch on your Router.

Def more than 5 min. Infinite man...

Looks like some handshaking issue between ONT and DLink.
You might wanna try the below which helps me reduce some minutes .

Try switch to google DNS cause the issue might be caused by Starhub's DNS which is kind of common these days.

Thanks melvinchen, just tried.
Looks good, shorter time.
Was using Comodo Secure DNS previously

Yes that is this one

The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Never set the IPv6 yet.

Nope, everything is smooth.
BTW, wired or wireless and what speed are you getting ?
