i wish to add my own wireless N dual band router. at same time i need the VOIP feature on the standard router provided. can this be accomplished with MarineX suggested setup ? cheers

Phone will have to plugged directly to huawei phone port.

I setup my bridging as per shared... and the connection was WOOT!



However, the very next day... it became like tat!!



Any of you have a similar issue? What can be the cause?
The only thing I have done after it was up was that I got the DDNS to work after upgrading the FW for the gateway to v22.

no real idea on the reason but might be because of the RG or the network. try reseting your RG and router to see if it improve.... try dl from itune or microsoft website and see the speed there although upload you might have to get a friend to help to dl from your comp

Do actual download and upload instead.

Speedtest is a mere tool n shld nt be taken into actual results.

BTW... there are some issues with my ip cams as well...
Prior to going onto fibre... my ddns post ok and I can assess my ip cams...
But now with this setup... even though DDNS post ok... but i simply cannot assess my ip cams at all now...

I am a real networking noob...
could it be becos there is a gateway now and my previous router is now "behind" the gateway... therefore, assess from outside cannot assess the ip cams?

Remove your 3rd party router first.
Don't add un-necessary processing to your overall network.

Of course, if you know what to do, its called double port forwarding, but as you already mentioned, you're not an advanced user, so keep it simple.
Relegate the 3rd party device as a pure AP/switch.

No. U should be able to xs it without any hiccups being at hm or outside (remotely)
do checkup on your portforward settings again.

If ihave no hiccups accessing my sftp and other stuffs of mine out from hm home network and behind my 3rd party router i dont see why cant you..

Fyi: i have no other devices connected to huawei except for my home phone and 3rd party router.

Do.. test your ip cams with a different network instead..

I tried my ddns without any port from work and I cant assess my huawei web ui...
However, my ipad app that assess my ip cams thru the ddns can assess one out of three ip cams....
And i tried my ddns with ports, I can also assess the same cam that appears on my ipad and not the other two...

My port forwarding is only done on my dir-825... my gateway does nothing except act as a bridge...

Is your port forwarding done on your dir-855? or was it done on the gateway?

I have some things to share which is related to Starhub.I posted recently here regarding my slow corporate broadband connection 12Mbps.I troubleshoot with the Starhub Cisco engineer and discovered an issue.When I use another brand router,the oversea sites is slow.But when I use the original Cisco SRP521W ,the oversea site is fast again.I have tried using all GB router Dlink DIR655,Aztech GR700 and Zyxel and all slow.I also do not understand why.

I was wondering,if you use Huawei and bridge with another router,will it slow down the oversea speed?

Bring your pc, plug it in or wireless n test the internet yourself

Test it yourself..

Gt internet means good to go and no means no good to go.

Need to ask qns 1 meh?
