btw, for the earlier response..

set to DHCP on huawei then connect 855 via dhcp..

copy down the ip & etc,

then set back to disable dhcp on huawei and static connect 855 via the ip copied.

easiest for you

then hopefully you will know what went wrong :)
Thanks a lot =) Will try it the moment I get home from work =) Will post my updates here =D

sorry bro, i'm a noob to networking...what settings might that be? thanks

refer from post #1 ?

just that the ip address and etc might be different and you will need to know a thing or 2 to set it up.

if not, read the manual and gain some enlightenment..

OR

try asking the elites here

if still no good..

why did you spend $ on something that you have ZERO idea on what to do???

haha. jk :)

buy me 1 so i can teach u step by step :) *evil*

1. It seems my firmware got upgraded to v22
2. I tried DHCP on for rg side, no effect at all. I also notice 1 thing, when connected directly, my up speed is 30mbps, going through my router, it became 1mbps. =(
3. Tried changing cable, no difference as well

Looks like my issue is solved! I just upgraded DIR-855 from v1.12 to 1.23! That resets my router to factory default and I re-do all the config again.

So I don't know whether it is a firmware issue or settings issue.

OH, Okie took a look at my prev post and refresh my memory "Dlink DIR-855 DNS (Pri/Sec): 192.168.2.2" Hehe

that is why i told you to set it to auto, read what is it and realize where your mistake is.

but still.. is good to re-configure from scratch. :)

Dear all, just got my Starhub ONT / Huawei HG installed. Will be using my current Asus RT N56U for wifi with setup as below:

(ONT) LAN Port 1 -> (HG256s) WAN Port
(HG256s) LAN Port 1 -> (Asus-RT N56U) WAN Port

Anyone using the same setup as mine? Appreciate any advice what other settings I need to configure.

Many thanks!

I was doing that previously but it create 2 wireless network isn't it? Is there a way to have just one network by setting up the 2nd router to transmit the same as the 1st?

Sorry if I ask stupid question. My knowledge of router is shallow.

Run 2 wireless good what. One for older b/g clients. The other for purely N device, so wont slow down capability of faster sets.
