hi all, i am planning to subscribe to SH as well
any comments on which router I should get?
I am using LAN for my PCs and not wireless btw.. wireless only for things like iphone and ipad at home...

btw.. both routers have a USB port. Will I be able to use it as a print server as well?

I just recently got my SH fibre activated. Very pleased with it so far. Using the Dlink router from SH. Since you're not using wireless most of the time, both Huawei and Dlink shouldn't be very different.

Now that's possible?! So who does your home number belongs to or you have no home line?

my home number belongs to Starhub even after using my personal router.

but for that, i will need to have a MOL Voice-Cable modem.

Just signed up for fiber and my installation is next week. I was told that they will lay cat5e/cat6 cable to my first PC as part of the installation charge. Anyone knows what is the maximum length they will lay (and how much extra it will cost per metre if I require a longer length) and whether crimping is done on the spot? I need to get the cable through a hole in the wall, but it is a bit too small (cable can fit but not the RJ45 head).

Thanks.

might as well, router > router also can ma.

in this case, your switch will require to be a layer 3 at least.

Router>router also can but won't it be slower?

if router>router

lan port of Router 1> to WAN port of router 2?

if you are scared, you can try to tell them you do not need their huawei or Dlink and you want to use your own router .

i got mine going to be done this Thursday wee hours of the morning
