I just got a call back from SH's tech guys. Just told them I don't use DV and I want to use my own router. They asked me what router I used and that's it. They said they will get the process rolling and remove the DV from my account. They said it will take a couple of days. Nice and easy.

Err so I just put in my own router then plug and play? Any setting? Need to tell SH?

wah siao... then better dont touch... else later dont even have slow wireless internet to use... :D:s8:

ya, most mac people are "technical inclined".

And that is why they bought a mac. They are afraid of meddling with their OS and getting a bunch of nonsense which is created by themselves in the very first place.

oh, did i miss the part that they are super ego persona s well?

Nope, they said no need to provide anything. Just plug in my own router and away I go.

got a call from the starhub maxinfinity tech team, they will be submitting my request to NC to convert to a direct ONT connection and will be done on monday.

The tech guys are much easier to talk to, compared to CSO which require lots of persuasion to get them process the request to allow direct connection. they also mention unless you face problem using their provided router, they won't process any direct connection request.

as confirm by the tech, once converted to direct ONT connection:
- the DV will not be provisionable over fiber, re-provision under VeCM is possible provided the number can.
- you will be able to use any router as you wish.
- starhub will not support any configuration problem you face when using your own router unless the problem arise from ONT to starhub end.
- during the conversion day, you will not be able to use the starhub fiber connection until it is done and it should complete on the day itself.

finally they've learnt their mistake on the need to inform the consumers on this.

I gave them a really good smacking for the failure of informing me on such important clause.
