Follow your instruction to disable all WLan and DHCP on Huawei,
then use 3rd router, EnGenius ESR9850, to link my dlink 930 webcam. all other device including the webcam are able to link to the EnGenius ESR9850.

But only thing is i cannot view the webcam using 3g mobile but can see video thro home network.

nothing is strange.

internal LAN can is normal (means you have configured your settings correctly - where LAN is concern)

BUT... your portfw is done wrongly on the WAN side.

and when you mentioned cannot view = can view login page? Or it just refuses to load in a whole ?

please check your settings accordingly.

it's still showing stealth when the program is running. sigh. i guess the only other way to port forward is to add another 3rd party router to the huawei. thanks for your help though.

Note that I've set a static IP address(192.168.1.21) for my iMac's airport so that HW RG wouldn't auto re-assign another IP address after lease expiry.

your choice.

if you follow my instruction properly...

you should set up your port fw on EnGenius.

Would also like to thank you for sharing your test and configuration in page 1, very useful info & ideas, help me save some $$ also.

I'm also on SH fiber 100mbps plan and getting very lousy wireless speed for my iMac from HW RG in my study room due to a thick wall. (Peak hours ~ 25+mbps, Non-peak ~ 40+mbps).

I almost wanted to lay a Cat6 LAN cable to my study room already but after reading thru this thread, I've decided to try bridging my AEBS(2nd generation) to HW RG to broadcast 5Ghz 802.11n(for iMac) while the HW RG still broadcast 2.4Ghz 802.11b/g/n(for other devices).

Now my iMac is able to get quite decent wireless speed. (Peak hours ~ 70+mbps, non-peak ~ 80-90+mbps).

Kudos to MarineX!!!!!

thanks alot bro. now it's showing open alrdy. i guess the program didnt really use that port. so by right if it shows stealth means it's open but not used la. if it shows open means the program is utilizing the port. really thanks to you.

okay. now the 4th attempt of installation and all clear, with the ONT link light solid green. kept the device... now waiting for the internet light on the Huawei RG to be solid green instead of solid red. My only problem is how to bridge the Huawei RG with the Engenius ESR-9850...

Opinions welcomed...

P.S. I know right, 4th attempt to complete this installation is really epic... but sigh...

Using the default huawei 256s with starhub.

initially when i subscribe, everything was ok.. but after about 2 months or so, i keep getting frequent disconnection.. the light stay green, but my msn will get disconnected and downloads cut. called up starhub, they came over and replaced the gateway.. it worked for 2 weeks or so.

however, 2 weeks later, the problem came back again.. i even tried streaming videos to my lcd thru lan, after awhile will get dc also. which means the its must have to be something to do with the gateway..

any experiencing the same problem? any solution?

nope. perhaps making noise with starhub is the only you have.

make noise then change RG. only choice.

Anyone can help..My speedtest.net shows following..super dam slow. Called up SB, they ask me do 3 times and send them the captured screen but till now no reply from them...:-(

Really damm pissed off with the speed.
