Okie... I ask I still Con-fused...
My setup is
TP>> ONT>> HG256>>> CAT 6 CABLE trunking about 15mt.>>> Desktop Computer (direct Plug)... the rest of my notebook/Tablet using wireles....
So looking at MarineX setting, knowing that slowhub does not allow replacement of router..... can I do the following bridging method??
1. TP>>> ONT>> HG256>>> CAT 6 CABLE>>> Asus Router>>> Desktop Computer
OR can only do it this way only
2. TP>>> ONT>> HG256>> Asus Router>> CAT 6 Cable>>> Desktop Computer direct plug

either is possible.
Do the first option imho, get the faceplate installation with trunking between HG256 -> ASUS Router.
This will allow you more options to plug-in another PC or Laptop to the router if it's placed in your bedroom
on wireless for the esr9850? skip it and get the asus black series router would be much ideal
Why? If I may ask.
wireless not strong.~ otherwise the router will be a very good contender.

Bit too $$$ for me. Can consider the $175 Asus RT-N56U which has no external antennas. Good?
Allow me a small 3rd party to answer your queries... since I happen to drop by.
both setup are the same. and both can have face plate if you really wants them. the answer u can throw to the call center staff that tell you cannot is... Hub Troopers - StarHub ask him go and ask them be4 getting back to you again.

Thank bro for the advise.... anyway only my desktop area got faceplate.... the router end just Cat 6 plug into router.. I am fine with it....
Will try calling them tomorrow and see how....
Best is to replace router no need do bridging... too many equipment involved...
Next query is.... reading up on the Asus Router.... is the new one really necessary?? $300++.... if its is good, dont mind spending.... but have read some not so good feedback...hmmm
