please try with your note so we can isolate the issue.

iPhone can be not compatible with the dlink and vice-versa. If so, bo bian.

i am assuming your configuration on Dlink is WPA-2, 20/40 + AES.

if so, try switching to WPA2, 20, AES with channel to 1 or 11

Well the note works fine on the wifi. Found out that my sis ip4 also works fine on the wifi it's just my ip4 having problems with this network. Just this wifi network cos if i connect using the note's hsdpa network it works fine.

I'll change the settings here and see.

Ya, so far counted 3, 1 each from vq, st and sh respectively, including yours, all on 21 Oct SG time:

Cannot be a coincidence that all 3 of us each with different pcs and different isps all have 0 ping cos of the firewall and that which goes to show that 0 ping is possible.

Me too.. waiting for my contract to end on Sept 2013.. still damn long leg...:(:(:(

Mines even worse, signed up mid-July 2011, schedule installation end-Aug, and due to major problem on the ON backend side, my contract and installation finally settled down on end-Oct 2011.
In summary, my contract only ends end of next October, instead of August (initial)

I was damm upset, only to know my contract extended + A LOT of bad experience (I mean you won't expect the installer to come to ur house 4x right?) :(

cant wait to jump ship. :D

Wah, still keeping track ar? Here is another one, my own:
2272333598.png

Anyway, in spite of cynical and less than 10 character comments in this thread, I wrote to Speedtest.net with debug log for their comments.

This is their reply: "This issue is caused by the way ISP cache dns records and will be corrected in an upcoming update. We do apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your time."

I believe this reply only addresses those unusually short pings, but not 0 pings. I think 0 pings may be caused by their software bug which understandably their won't admit.

Along the way I found out the windows command ping. This will give results in millisecond resolutions. There is another hrping []Product Overview - cFos Software GmbH

This hrping gives results in microsecond resolutions. I had some fun trying to ping my RG 192.168.1.254, another pc in my home network and the wan ip address of my RG.

Cheers.

Whatever la it goes to show that this isn't the problem of one single person but speedtests problem

This is bad.. getting a lot of disconnection .. especially so when downloading torrents.

Not sure if its a problem with the ONT or the Dlink router.

How to feedback to Starhub?

Sigh .. i did not have such problems when using cable previously.

My connection didn't work one day. The router kept on making the clicking sound. I called starhub and they said they will send down some guy to check on it a few days later. I then turned off the router. Hours later i think i turned it back on and strangely it worked. Funny huh.

yes yes.. if they treat me like human i'll treat them nicely. but i ish beri sad when they treat me like passenger onboard pirate ship. Thank kuu for calling sir, sorry can't. not possible sir. please check with Dlink sir. No way to verify sir. Please check your client NIC to make sure it's compatible sir. LOL

ok, i'm exaggerating. but you know what i'm saying.. nice CSO of course thank you. not so nice one no choice kpkb to enforce my rights.

just ask for chinese speaking or malay speaking local. they will transfer you to local team. once there things are a lot easier to talk rather then using a hammer hitting a wall. If things have feeling.. both will hurt.

As much as I'm tempted everyday to change router, i can't cos I'm using the digital voice at home. And i prefer not to have another router for that purpose alone.

Sigh .. i did not have such problems when using cable previously.

Finally called Starhub last night cos i realise my connection keeps disconnecting during heavy usage of broadband.

Honestly, not sure if its the router or ONT.

Now i have to wait for some network guy to contact me again.

Recently got my Fibre up, SH 100Mbps.

ONT -> D-Link DVG-N5402SP ->D-Link DWA-525 [wireless N 150] (COMPUTER 1) & D-Link DWA-110 [Wireless G] (COMPUTER 2)

Speed that I am getting from my (COMPUTER 1)DWA-525:

3322e11.jpg

Max Speed it shows only at 72Mbps, but it can support till 150Mbps

As for the DWA-110(Wireless g)[COMPUTER 2], I replaced it with the D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N DualBand USB Adapter. And yet I got a weaker signal strength compared to the DWA 110. Don't know what's wrong with it, I thought it would be better with wireless N.

Need help in boosting this speed. But I need the D-Link DVG-N5402SP as my home line is connected to it.

Fews options that I thought about and need advises:

1)ONT->D-Link DVG-N5402SP-> via Cable -> Wireless N Router -> Wireless

2)ONT ->D-Link DVG-N5402SP-> [wireless] Repeater -> Wireless

3)ONT ->D-Link DVG-N5402SP->phone
->[Another port from ONT]-> via Cable -> Wireless N Router ->

1. set channel 1-11
2. set 20/40MHz and not 20MHz.
3. set wpa2-aes psk.

since these are not mentioned, I will have to give assumptions.

follow the above.

skip the repeater. it shouldn't even be part of your consideration.

used the router, used the ont.

I wouldn't say the problem lies with either for disconnection with torrent.

probably you just got yourself a lemon.
