It would very much depend on whether you get any freebies with the contract. And I Starhub provide you a sliding scale of payment you have to make if you terminate current contract early.

For freebies, their recovery period is the whole contract period ..

No freebies... Just discounted monthly rate.

Anyone know if SH will install D-Link or Huawei router for new sign up now? Or can I request for it? I know both are not so good but which one is slightly better?

SH don't allow upgrade of MOL cable to fibre when there is currently still 1 year left in contract?

Is this true?

IDK about this leh, I had like 7 month left and they sent me a flyer to offer to upgrade, so I just called and upgrade.

hi guys,

whats the best torrent speed of BT on maxinfinity 150?

im on 16mpbs MOL express and can max out at around 1.6mps. considering all torrenting variables are excellent, what type of bt speed should i be expecting?

Torrents speeds depends on seeds as well, so far my highest speed achieved is 9mb/s (72mbps) on MIF 100. Believe can go higher, not enough seeds.

I too get the same problem since last Thurs. Able to download some apps from Google Play but unable to perform any app update at all. Have no problem doing update via 3G or other wifi networks.

The problem is with the stupid d-link router they provided. Whenever I want to download apps, I just use my cellular data.

check your seeds and you will know why.

probably because there is a sg seeder hence your speed - if you've noticed it.

do not forget, the international b/w is capped. Hence 9MB/s is almost impossible without local seeder.

as what highNoon stated.

if you previously got yourself a notebook or something similar, you will have to sit out for the entire contract period or to be exact, 21months.

for this, what the CSO tells you is absolute.

whatever / whichever forumer says otherwise is because they did not get the notebook.

the seeders are all mainly from US and UK.. now having a speed of 5MB/s

After swopping for a new Dlink router last month, my connections has been very stable (was intermittent previously on the old router).

Last night's Walking Dead took me 4mins (prob 1Mb+/s). I'm sure my speeds would be faster if i used wired instead. But I'm already pretty satisfied.

I guess it all boils down to individual preferences and expectations.

I have the same problem - unable to update Apps from Playstore. Have had the fibre optics for 2 months; was OK on month 1, but the download problems started about a month ago. WiFi also intermittent.

Starhub has just replaced the D-Link router but the issues remain.

The PlayStore download issues are on both my Androids - Samsung S3 and Nexus 7. I have no problem downloading from PlayStore with both devices when on Singtel wifi.

I have written a complaint to Starhub and would encourage others to do same.

Anyone knows if it is possible to enable dmz for 2 computers (different ip address) under the same fibre optic wifi?

Some clients like garnea requires dmz enabled for in coming connections of other players.

Garnea? You mean garena? I think with UPnP and port forwarding, should be good enough already. So far I have not encountered an app with requires DMZ

Hi guys!

I received the HomeHub promotion for the 4 services. Do u think it's a good offer? My contract is ending soon, and it seems that the HomeHub contract is attractive.

Hi, thanks for reply. yup garena =:p

problem with port fowarding (aka virtual server?) is which port to foward to for garena? 6112 is for wc3 not garena. furthermore each port forward range is limited to a single ip address. Me and my fren at my house one of us wuld be firewalled from garena. I m currently only been able to get connections through enabling DMZ

I have this problem too! Is that something to do with the new google play store version (3.10.9) not compatible with the DLink VOIP router? I just emailed Starhub to enquire on this. Damn stupid..

if Starhub or Dlink could solve my issue I would not have switch to ASUS instead.

3months of email, wait, leave and etc ended using what I have suggested in the very first correspondence...

1. use my own router
2. use my own VoIP equipment

2 devices... waste a tiny bit more electricity for problem free experience :)

Using default Dlink router in living room, wireless to my old Mac Book in bedroom.
