I believe it is intended behaviour to save bandwidth. YouTube will not resume buffering for long videos unless you continue playing past a certain point.

(Also, off-topic but YouTube removed the right-click -> Stop Download option now...)

What brand of router are you using? Also are you connecting via wifi or cable?

I changed my router from a TP Link 1043ND to the latest TP Link N900 and I get this problem on my devices. There was a new firmware released a couple of months ago that was supposed to solve the issue. It's improved but hasn't eliminated it! The issue occurs consistently on Ios devices.

Some video will load fully but some will only start loading again when close to the point you play. Guess user has no control.

Managed to sign up for fibre with starhub today. I also managed to find out that my house is cat5e wired with data points in the bedrooms. The sales told me that i will be getting the Dlink router, is this router really bad? As mentioned i will be wired most of the time but family members will have ipads etc using wireless. I can either take this router or call them to request for 3000 reward points. Should i do the latter? Or just wait for the starhub techician to come down during the installation day and see how the results go?

on VoIP? if no, just gun a router of your choice.

Preferably the ASUS RT-N56U or better.

I don't need the voice line, just the internet. I read that i can add another AP in the bedroom via the data point to extend the range, is this a good option? Or do you suggest that i just get a better router and claim the 3000 pts?

What is the latest re Starhub Fibre

1. I had SH fibre 18 months ago but went back to cable due to the restraints of international bandwidth. Now the offers seem to be far better, do they allow you to use your own router these days - Sorry Mr Gribber its an Apple AE.

2. How does Starhub compare these days as the "new wonderboys" were the rage back then, but that appears to have cooled now. I like Starhub.. Would appreciate some opinions please.

I agree with Gribber on 2. What is a wonderboy anyway? This is the first time I've seen that term.

Starhub fiber users... how is the speed and usage quality compared to MOL cable?

Thinking of sticking to Starhub since all along with SH.
