I'm having some downloading problems. Using latest chrome.

Ytd I tried dl-ing hp printer software, and kept getting "unknown network error". I thought that it was hp's problem so didn't care much.

today tried to download something from imgur: 575 Wallpapers (All 1080p, No watermarks) - Imgur
ended up also unknown network error. is starhub throttling the download speed or something? it keeps dying off after a while.

Hi Guys, just check if your fibre broadband contract expired and you want to terminate it. Will there be any termination/disconnection fees applied? My contract with Starhub already expired, called in and request to terminate but was being told that I have to pay for the termination/disconnection fees which cost $30+.

Anyone can advise?

that is unreasonable. tell them that if they don't waive it off, you will just stop using their services and stop paying the bills.

Well, I have just subscribed with Singtel last week, taking up their 200Mbps Fibre plan. Not sure if Singtel have the same clause....Nowdays, regardless of getting a new services or terminating it, you'll' have to pay registration fees, activation fees, admin fees, termination fees, disconnection fees ;(

The speed of my connection will like slowdown after a week of usage now on Maxinfinity. Heard it was that now the connection is activated at their Starhub end, the connection will be slower and restricted to bandwidth allocation.

The clause is clearly mentioned in the terms and conditions when you sign up. The CSO have pointed out that to me when I took connection. M1 also have the same thing. Not sure about others

Different setup (Apple Extreme Gen 6, white ONT), but no problems getting to the page you linked to.

getting to the page is no problem. it's the downloading that gets disconnected. hp drivers, imgur, download test page all ended up with network error in chrome, and download failed in firefox.

using files from here also failed: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download.html

seems like SH is blocking people from downloading stuff?

After the many months, Starhub's Native IPv6 is finally usable (in my point of view). IPv6's "brokenness" is now very minimum.

For those who wonders why bother going IPv6 or if it does not provide any benefits. Speed is one of the advantages (might be lesser people are on it). But do remember that this technology is still "very new" and companies and even some ISPs has just being implementation stage. IPv6 routes are still far from optimized.

See the following speedtest result (IPv6 routes should be optimized) tested on ipv6-test.com.

Do not expect every IPv6 enabled site to be faster as it's dependent on the routing path. Some sites will even be slower than in IPv4.

My experience for Google related sites, especially Youtube, experience in IPv6 is far better than in IPv4.

Seriously? Why would SH block people from downloading stuff? There has to be a limit to conspiracy theories... ;-)

they did throttle my speeds last time when i was torrenting... so... :s22:

the problem is with either the black ONT or dir 865l or starhub. ran a few tests and also contacted the server managers. nothing on their side.

The 865 has new firmware - try upgrading and see if the problem persists? There was a report of some streaming sites causing an 865 reboot (!!!), which is one of the problems that's apparently been fixed. Another is that 2.4 performance has apparently been improved.

Either way, I'll try with the 865 over the weekend. The ONT really shouldn't matter - it's just a converter.
