I feel that your investment strategy has to be aligned with Stashaway in order for you to invest with them in the long term.

If you are not a fan of active investing or don’t think that their proposition of inflationary proof portfolio makes sense. then probably should go for alternative or just buy etf direct.

StashAway finally exits the much debated over loading of China tech in their portfolio citing war and sanctions risk.. For those into DCA strategy once again this proves that actively managed robo with sector bets is a no-no .. Broad diversification and time bound re-balancing is not out of fashion yet :)

China tech was a stupid bet by stashaway.

i entered last year to try robo for the first time. at that time i deliberately choose a portfolio with relatively small exposure to china tech bcos it was already clear that the sector has huge regulatory risk. then not long after i entered, stashaway decided to double their exposure in china tech i was like wtf.

immediately stopped my DCA, but i kept my initial sum in till now. lucky it is only 3% of my total liquid assets.

Super bad timing.

My portfolio gains over the last 3.5 years wiped out in a single day they decide to sell KWEB at 5 year low of $21.78

They could have sold it months ago at $50+ or even days before or later at $30+

Now my portfolio value same as money deposited. Wtf. 3.5 years zero return

I'm with you here. Very disappointed. Them exiting at $21.78 has realised the priced-in secondary sanctions risk.

I didn't even sell KWEB from my private portfolio. Didn't they create video after video asking us to take a long term view with China Tech? Don't they practise what they preach? Unbelievable. Now we've all lost out on an overnight almost 40% gain in KWEB.

Does anyone know how to deactivate their automatic "reoptimisation"? Can't seem to find it nowhere in the app.

Thank god I split my robos 3 ways into Autowealth, endowus and stashaway. I think if my entire holdings was in stashaway I would have cried last night

The option to deactivate has been removed some time back

With the recent optimisation, it wipe away my 2 years gain. Back to square one. I decided to just withdraw and invest in my own etf

Yes I'm probably going withdraw all my funds too.

It's silly to pay them a monthly fee to make this kind of knee-jerk reactionary decisions with my retirement funds. Nobody told them to devote such a sizeable allocation to KWEB and realise something like a 70% loss at price that will probably be an all time low for KWEB. All this without first informing us and giving us the option of opting out this so called "reoptimisation".

It's like their high-risk hedge fund-like gamble went south and they left me to foot the bill. By the time they reacted to the risk of secondary sanctions on China, it had already been priced in: hence the $21.78 liquidation price. So what made them think they would be able to protect their investors by locking in the loss? It's so frustrating and laughable; like watching an inexperienced newbie invest.

Whoever made this decision needs to be held accountable.
