if i hold OS on normal HDD + caching ssd (ocz synapse eg), would it be better rather than holding everything on a eg: (ocz agility) in terms of lifetime of the ssd.

I would think things like swap files and torrent downloads all introduces all kind of disk trashing which on a ssd probably decreases its lifetime.

What you say is theoretically correct since there is less wear and tear on the SSD. Though actual articles on the web do indicate lifespan of typical SSD should last 5 - 7 years base on the NAND Flash manufacturer's ratings and normal usage.

Yup, the review you quoted confirms my experience that raid 0 could make gaming performance worse.

Question: when the 'lifetime' of an ssd is up, can we still read data from it? Or it just dies?

Does anyone know USA Crucial.com accept SG issued credit/debit cards?

Also, for RMA, do I have to pay for to & fro shipping costs or just 1 way?

yup they do accept international credit cards (including sg ones)... rma is one way fee .. hth :)

Need to get a new SSD.

but stuck at the choice of should i get the one with Toshiba 24nm Toggle NAND Plextor M3 or the one with 32nm Nand Plextor M2

Any experts here can advise what is the difference and lifespan of this two nands?
