do you have issues with your current goggles? finding out what kind of design suits your face and head shape is the most important step.

basically, good goggles should:

• fit well to prevent leaks
• not have any pressure points that could cause discomfort
• have anti-fog properties
• appropriate tint/mirror coating/polarized layer for the lighting condition

It have been a long time since I start to swim recently and The goggles I bought was TYR brand that cost 14.90 during sale. Lol.
No matter how I adjust. I feel discomfort after 10 laps. Then I read there have Goggle for competitive racer and also for recreational use. That why I like to know more in how to get a right fit goggle. Don't mind pay more for a good one.

aqua sphere kaiman is quite comfortable.

michael phelps xceed (also from aqua sphere) and speedo speed socket 2 are quite highly rated also.

are there any specific locations where you feel discomfort? if there's pressure on the sides of your head, the goggles are too narrow... and if you feel like the gaskets are pressing on your eyeballs, the goggle sockets are too small.

TYR is a reputable brand and the local distributor staff are generally knowledgeable. if you happen to be at their warehouse sale, you could approach them for fitting advice....

competitive goggles tend to be small and fit inside the eye sockets... some don't even have silicone gaskets, so you'll need to try on to see if the particular model suits your face shape

recreational goggles tend to be big and fit around the eye sockets, but for some people this causes water to leak into the goggles.... especially those that come as a one-piece frame where the nose bridge is fixed width.

many activesg swimming complexes open early for "morning swims" too.... but one lady told me she got annoyed by the old uncles wearing translucent swimming trunks.

dont have to spend too much on a pair of goggles if u are using for that kind of purpose

just try on a few to see which is most comfortable and to your budget

The pain is on right inside my eye socket area. I never feel discomfort on my side of my head. If I adjust too loose. The water will slip in. I guess my current goggle might be small for me.

yes, it seems like the goggle sockets are too small... specifically, the "height". coincidentally, i also have a pair of TYR goggles that press on my eye sockets but fortunately they don't leak

what you can do: measure the "inside height" of the sockets, i.e. excluding the thickness of the gaskets.... then compare this figure with the ones that you try.

I bought a speedo brand google and by the 3rd time using the anti fog already cmi liao. I only wear once a week. Today only my 4th time using it i bth liao. Why ah ?

Normal.
The interior should not touch water one.
It's after just a very thin spray-on membrane nia.

if it was always leaking from the beginning, the design probably doesn't fit your face.... but you could try adjusting the nose bridge width if it came with multiple bridges or has a bridge with notches. i guess your face is either narrower or wider than average

if it didn't leak when it was new, there's probably a leak caused by a gasket getting loose..... some gaskets are glued but others are fitted to grip the goggle socket tightly. it's possible to repair although it's a potentially messy job

the anti fog coating has worn off already. the number of times the factory-applied anti fog coating lasts depends on how you rinse the goggles before and after use.... ideally you should rinse gently and air dry the goggles as soon as possible after use... and avoid touching the inside surface

you can apply anti fog solution before each swim to prevent the goggles from fogging up.... or if there's also a cloudy residue of the factory-applied anti fog treatment, consider a combo goggle cleaner/anti fog solution like zoggs or TYR - they contain solvent that can remove the cloudy layer

you might want to get a new pair that can adjust the width of the nose bridge.

you could look at speedo at royal sporting house - the opal and mariner range come with nose bridges of different widths.... and get a 20% discount by showing your safra membership card i have a pair of opal junior optical goggles even though i'm not a kid any longer

or you can visit an arena retail shop which carries arena and view (tabata) brand goggles

both of these places allow trying before buying.... which is important since you're not sure yet of what shape of goggles will suit you.

Please note that with effect from April 2018, swimsafer 1.0 will be transist to swimsafer 2.0. There will be some changes in the syllabus. For Silver and Gold, there will be swim timing for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke.

Base on the recent observation on swimsafer 2.0, most of the swimmers were weak on their backstroke but many were better in their breaststroke followed by freestyle.
