Book the fareastone SIM card from
Klook. (8days unlimited @$15). Speed is fast n reliable. But initially can’t access 4G cos the APN setting need to put as”internet”. Not sure why the carrier setting never update. So call CSO n ask for help.

Also book the kkday $1 WiFi egg as well. Pay only $8 for 8 days n speed is fast with 4-5 devices using. N the battery last quite long.

If you book via Klook or kkday for Taipei, they both collect from same counter in taoyuan (counter 3). Turn right after collecting luggage. Right at the end.

for usage in kaohsiung (and possibly kenting), is there a distinct difference between the various operators - fareasttone, GT Mobile, chunghwa?

choose the blue/orange one.. personal experience with GT mobile is that their 4G is quite pathetic..

Actually, it really depends on (1) your phone, and (2) your needs.

1. Your phone. For iPhone, I understand only 1 sim card. So depends on whether do you want to get TW sim card cause it means no one can contact your via your SG line. Of cause, still can Whatsapp.

2. Your needs. If you have a dual sim phone, inserted with a SG sim and Memory card, it means you have to drop either one if you want to use TW SIM. At the same time, if you are willing to pay close to $20, there are TW SIM cards that offers UNLIMITED data.

Personally, after my recent trip, I would recommend getting TW SIM for (1) no one can disturb you on holiday via SG calls cause SG SIM is removed, (2) cost saving from possibly having to pick up SG calls.

Hope this helps u in your decision making.

2 week get router too ex, buy sim card better. If more than 3, can use a old phone act as router (hotspot).
