air flow does not work this way. You are introducing turbulence and canceling the air flow. It is alright to blow from the HDD to CPU, does the HDD temp reach 1000C to affect the CPU?

your last sentence is making me sleep well tonight!

Yah lah but still heat mah. If like that, then I may just relocate hard disk outside the casing. See how.

But if I were to turn the 2 fans that is at the top harddisk area to opposite direction, I'll be having 3 fan blowing in and 2 fan blowing out. Is that ok? Or should I add another fan to blow out?

Use intake for front and bottom chassis.
Exhaust for rear and top can liao.

I have a rather peculiar issue here. I think my temps here are great (current room temp at 25ºC in aircon), but I have 1 HDD that is much hotter than the rest.

Any plausible explanation for this?

I'm using a Corsair 750D, with 2 x 140mm front intake, 2 x 120mm bottom intake, top H100i 2 x 120mm radiator intake and only the rear 140mm exhaust.

It is possible to be higher than the other if the hdd is placed directly on top of the cooler one.

The basis of air cooling, teaches all you need to know.

Ran AIDA 64 at 4.6ghz 1.2V for 8 hours

Room temp is about 29C

Does the temp look safe?

looks good, you may want to stress the GPU concurrently to fully load the whole system.

From this review, a test between H100i, H80i and normal air HSF cooler, apparently the temperature difference between H100i and air HSF cooler are :

1. Idle - 3degC
2. Load - 4degC

That is not a very big difference right?

He practically loaded everything with NF-12 fans. If going by H100i setup it be like 5 NF fans at least. Not cheap wor.

You see got all the water cooler, which should be bought by him. He got $$ lah.

But from this review, I'll most probably not go for liquid cooling because the different is not much, plus risk of water leakage.

Update :)
Before
Room temperature: 31C
Intel stock fan-heatsink speed (BIOS): Auto
- Gaming -
1409ksp.png

Now
Room temperature: 30C
Intel stock fan-heatsink speed (BIOS): Manual
40% @ 40C
100% @ 60C
- Encoding -

After using manual speed setting, max temp drop by 5C and the Intel fan still remain silent running @ 100% :)

i7 4970k with CM nepton 240m
Msi 970

Cpu Idle: 38 degrees
Gpu idle: 41 degrees @ 37% fan speed

During bf4 max 1080p ultra settings
Cpu load: 71 degrees
Gpu load: 64 degrees @ 70% fan speed

The weird thing about msi gtx970: the temp idles at 59 degrees if i set fan to auto mode which means they won't spin unless the sensor detect load or hit 60 degrees. Is this ok? The idle gpu temp seems high..
