1 day or 1 week wonder?
Knowing return over at least past 10 years period would be more meaningful.

I am waiting for you to take my bet.

Past 10 years? You can assume I lose money if it makes you happy. :s13:

Lets not talk about the average man on the street who are not informed or don't have the means.

Lets talk about people in this forum. =:p

The government is right. It is not recommended to use CPF to buy stocks.

Exactly! So stocks is not a must have in this low inflation environment with low rates creating an asset bubble. That is all I was trying to get at.

I rather bet the market & make real big money than do silly bet of $100 with you, meaningless lol!

Ok then your bunny comments don't carry much weight.

It's not about making big or real money. It's about putting money where our mouth is. Otherwise, people will just make all sorts of crazy opinions.

As to comments predicting the future, probably the experience ones will do better. What is yours?

Tech stocks already high PE, & will become higher next year when US trade & tech war shows their effects into Co fin statements.

Tech crash is a matter of time.

I thought you said tech stocks will crash.

So why not give us a level and time frame?

You already made 2.5M in properties but you cannot afford to bet $100 with me? :s13:

I am awaiting a key reversal signal in the SP to put on some new shorts in select counters and to close out an existing swing long. This run up has been very steep and appears to be stalling at 2900 with a no demand candle in the futures. The no demand candle would have been more ideal if the volume were lower, however, it has a relatively lower volume compared to prior 2 candles and would still qualify as a no demand candle in VSA language. One can also argue that the run up is not a upward channel but a rising wedge pattern in the making.... Anything can happen in today's environment which is increasingly being dictated by the politicians... so let's see.

This is turning out to be a children's playground fight. What's the point of challenging each other? I thought we were all here to learn and make money?

You are probably not aware.

There are so many trolls making cheap shot bearish calls.

Someone making a bearish call is no less or no more than someone making a bullish call. If the call is cheap, it would show for itself. Most would be discerning enough to ignore such claims when there is no rationale or reason provided to back his or her call.

I would like to see more devil's advocate making for an alternate case to check too much of a one sided view or perspective that forumers would have and see the value in such. Kudos to revhappy who swims against the tide of bullishness. I am not saying he is right or wrong but think that there is courage displayed in stating an alternative view, risking bombardment from all the zealous bulls here.

Bro Rev is the contrarian SSI deserves, but not the one it needs right now. =:p

I would like to see more investors who invest for the long run rather than gambling and playing casino

Invest for the long run = gambling on a longer time frame yes?

Trading for the short term = gambling on a shorter time frame no?

The winner is an investor and the loser a gambler?

It really depends on how you define gambling right? One who takes on a game of chance vs one who has done his homework and research and makes a calculated bet based on his edge.

Hahaha no bulls will ever welcome a bear.

True, but I do. :o I'm a special bull, a 'reit bull'.
The Jan to Apr market rally got me a little worried that the Fed might hike rates in Jun or Sep. Luckily, the bears came back in force after the Trump tariff threats and Huawei ban in May.
I love bears because they help to keep the US Fed on their toes, holding them back on further rate hikes. ;)

how long you've been holding them? What's yr % gain set in order to realize it.

No target set for passive yield collectors I can understand, but not imply for long capital investors that could lead fall into love stock.
