Emerging markets ETF EEM/EIMI has turned positive, that is quite interesting. Most other markets are still negative.

MKR, since you are keen to learn trading, let me suggest you a book -

"The Trader's Pendulum - The 10 habits of highly successful traders" by Jody Samuels.

It's a very well written book where the author narrates the story of 2 amateur traders, completely different personalities and their journey from amateur to professional level.

Its available in our library.

Thanks for the intro.

I tot of researching more on stocks when i have more free time, but i have this dilemma. I have been profitable since day 1, my portfolio only drops below my principle once and i had to pump in 3k to maintain my ability to day trade. But 3days later trump helped me got out of that shyt hole....

now i achieved a very CSB returns so i duno if i should learn more to increase efficiency or just let it ride until i start to lose money.....

trade more to catch the feel and timing. it ok to lose at the start, because it will be big price to pay at the back when u think u are guru since you keep earning. i learn the hard way. haha :s13:

I find Conrad Alvin lim book good also. talk about the psychology of trading and very singaporean mindset

Markets very lack luster. I am guessing there will be a plunge to break the days lows and then markets will recover toward close.

I read an interesting comment. The Bulls are now putting last night's price action as a falling wedge formation and that the stock market is building a case for a bullish break upwards down the road.

In my mind, the bulls have pulled out and that is depicted in both the weekly and daily chart. In the weekly chart, we have a close near lows on slightly reduced volume for the week and with a sell off wave almost matching the volume that went through during last Dec's sell off. This is a change of behaviour towards the bearish side of things. In the daily chart, the 200 d MA has been breached.

A case may be built for the bulls to reemerge but that is not at all evident for now.... maybe we may see some consolidation next week as we have very oversold conditions.

In longterm, someone will need to clean up this Trumptard mess. That's why it's good to accumulate slowly for the future.

I always choose to be smart, because smart people make their own luck.

Lucky people can't use their luck to make themselves smart. :s13:

Hi all,

I share the view we are in the midst of a correction, maybe going into bearish market soon. In view of that, for newbie investors (can't do options and stuff) and sitting in mostly cash right now, what is the best play from here?

Will you slowly DCA into something? ETF? Or basket of US stocks? What will you choose?

Or Wait for .... What's your indicator for entry point?

Thinking of DCAing 1% every week. Is that a silly idea?

Thanks!

depends on how much is the 1% because you might incur excessive fees due to minimum commissions for each transaction.
