Ya lor. Now Samsung doesn't push new stuff, like Apple recycle old parts but Apple at least working on a much better processors. Honestly, last 2-3 years Apple seem to have innovated better than Samsung.

I'm changing phone cos contract 2 years liao, reasons for buying is just the dual camera and battery refresh. Oh yeah, also cos of the storage is now 64gb and got microSD lol

You've got to be kidding me... Apple innovating? I think not... everything they've done is basically late to the game... they're only doing better cos they've got benefit of hindsight plus an integrated hardware and software environment plus a highlands restrictive ecosystem which helps makes things cohesive... but beyond that, the innovation has come from other manufacturers... I think that it's quite a well known fact that many Apple fans are bemoaning the jack of obvious wow factor innovations from Apple in the last few years...

The cam confirmed only 2x optical zoom nia, one more disappointment :(

What are you expecting :p Honestly you try to hold stable a optical zoom camera with just your hands.. Very hard even OIS and EIS cannot hold it stable one. No point having a deep zoom lens on a mobile phone.

Initially rumoured is 3x mah

Haha what can you do with 3x..Even the portrait mode stuff cannot use a 3x else how else would it know the subject.. You got to stand 3 times as far back like that :s13: Anything more than 2x you really need a tripod or a gimbal to keep it steady, it is a nightmare to keep still.

What can you do with dual cam, it won't be as good as dslr? What can you do with stereo speaker, use headphones better? What can you do with FHD screen, no difference since screen so small anyway? Let's just ask Samsung to do away with all these and sell us a shell for $1500.

Very easy questions, Dual cam allows you to create a depth map where you can use it to create a bokeh effect with small sensors. My point is however if you use a 3x zoom you need to be 3 times as far from the subject to do it which is counter intuitive and the stability of anyone to hold a 3x camera this small handheld will give you an unusable picture and video.. That 3x is honestly something that should be obvious that is not going to happen

Stereo speaks for the obvious, so you can have left and right channels for the speakers how is headphones in this?

Indeed true, FHD is actually enough for a device the iPhone 7+ is a testimony for it. The few reason why to go higher is for VR and marketing cause people like higher numbers. Plus my Main device atm is a OP5, I'm quite certain my device out performs S8 (Which is in my drawer now) and even the Note 8 too (Which I'm going to see very soon thanks to Samsung Connections ;) )

I'll be honest they can indeed do away with all of those, but to be selling it that that price is not really going to happen.

Honestly, it is very very easy to predict what is to be expected from Note series since their development timeline is so close to the S series. Always just take the Newer S series releases, slap an S pen into it, a slightly larger screen and battery. Tada your New note. Due to the 'trend' and the more space, I guess they fit a dual camera into it.

FHD vs qHd? Tons of difference.. I used S5 fhd now because I dropped my note 4 qhd and smashed it. When I saw my wife's note 4 qhd screen, it is so beautiful compare with mine. I want qhd back... and I don't mean just watching video..

This logic is like, what can you do with bigger battery, it won't be as good as Nokia phone so just buy one for $50.

Oh i just saw your reply was a sarcasm to his reply lol so then the above msg is for his comment then :p

Hmmm, instead of keeping 3x back why not think of it as your subject is 3x away :s13: but true on the stabilizing the further the zoom but i'll prefer to have it cos it's still better to have it, i'll just mount it on a tripod.

But that doesn't change the fact that they still do most things better. And they are late to the game cos they can afford to take their time. They have a restrictive ecosystem but it's not without it's benefit, many people don't even know what many of the smart things exist on a phone except for messaging, cameras and media consumption.

Most manufacturers, once they are at the top of the game they won't change the winning formula much. And i said Apple innovated better than Samsung, not other manufacturers and also their SoC is doing far greater jump in performance. Why people like to pluck so many things from the air to argue lol.

You specifically mentioned last 2-3 years which is when Apple actually stopped innovating... the great innovations were the iPad and the iPhone... after that, they played catch up actually... cos most of the software features were available first on Android... but they definitely do software and hardware integration much better... so much so that it's now a straight choice between freedom to customise but live with bugs and other inconveniences, or having a tightly integrated device but live with severe restrictions as to how to use your device...

Interestingly, almost everyone's Apple phone's homescreens look the same... but that's not so for Android... I get rather tired waiting for people to look for something they want to show me on their iPhones, when they end up swiping endlessly through their homescreens to look for the app they need, and then swiping endlessly through the app to look for some file or image or video... in this day and age, inability to sort is ridiculous...
